Went to talk to a local sporting goods dealer today. Explained I wanted a folding stock IMI receiver Vector carbine with bayonet lug now that the AWB died. He told me that UZIs were no longer imported and that the ASW didn't change much about the availability of UZIs.Never heard of Vector. I had to explain about imported receivers with USA parts to him. He seemed little impressed.Has lots of camo and turkey hunting stuff though. Nice but no banana. Another big dealer I called said "we have 2 for sale", referring to pre 1989 UZIs priced at $1700 plus. Expressed no interest in researching Vector for me. OK folks. I want to go see one for myself and buy one. Knob Creek is coming up next month 100 miles up the road. Is this my best choice to handle one and buy the model I want? Any place in my region of KY stock them? Louisville? Elizabethtown?

Hello Toolmaker. I am not aware of anyone in the Louisville area stocking Vector products. However, there are quite a few local dealers who attend the show, such as Guns From Us in nearby Fort Knox. Those guys are always at the show and usually recieve a gun for a customer for around 15-25 dollars(they did this for me at a show recently on an out of state revolver sale). Perhaps you could prepay Vector and have them bring it to Knob Creek (save shipping) and just use an attending local FFL to recieve the purchase.

If you are interested, I can find the number to Guns From Us.

Thanks. A dealer in my town charges 25 bucks for receiving a gun, plus the 6 percent sales tax. If Vector sells directly to customers through FFLs I could go this route. Is 595 list really the lowest sort of price out there for a folding stock carbine? Ft. Knox is 85 miles away. Would be better time and money wise to have one shipped here I guess. What do you think? If I called Vector, could I specify an IMI receiver, folder and bayo lug?

Yes, you can specify which reciever you want, but ask and make sure that it has the features you want. You shouldn't have any problem with that. I would say that 595.00 is the lowest these will go, at least in ordering direct from Vector (plus local fees for recieving ).

You can find dealers willing to do transfers for you at http://www.gunbroker.com

Just find one that will do the transfer at the lowest price, and order direct from Vector. They can ship to your FFL who turns it over to you for a few more bucks. Lucky for me, Vector is about 15 minutes away!

Vector Price

The lowest price I've seen on the Vector Uzi is $550. I have not ordered from this guy but he was recommended on the SIG Forums web site.

Sorry for not posting a follow-up thank you to each of you for the responses. I did go farther with some additional posts however. Anyway, I paid for my carbine order this morning to a very pleasant dealer I found in Bowling Green. $621 out the door when it comes, including phone-in check, extra IMI mag, shipping, KY tax and the gun. Waiting with my breath held to get it next week or so. Will be the first on my block to have one (unless the neighbors have been fooling me) Thanks to you all so much!
