M-11 SMG/SBR guys any interest in an Uzi folding stock with adapter? Just looking for a pulse before I start down the road of casting reshaped handgrips. Can also be made as a removable setup like the original stocks. Again any opinions before I mill a prototype adapter? Looking to save some time if you don’t think there would be any interest in the market. SMG/SBR owners only please.

I like it. It would be nice if no additional holes are required to be drilled for installation & even better if the two rail slots & locking bar/ button are retained.

Maybe the grips could be molded from neoprene & have a wraparound configuration for a more positive grasp.

stymie,
That's one option I mentioned in my post so its not a problem.

Blackbelt - M10 could be both ways also.

Depending on price and if I had to drill any holes I would get one.

I LIKE IT!! :love I would be all over that if the adapter mounts with the rail openings without having to modify the receiver. I would also like to see a machined block to hold the rails in place rather than using the button. It would then be nice and solid like the Lage folder.

I would also be interested in seeing that with a MAX-11 upper. I'm wondering if it might be too low for the open sights on the MAX-11.

Updated picture

Sorry guys, I think I have in combination about 13 transferable stock M-11/M-10’s on the book but no Max upper for them. I did find a SCA Suomi upper, (I know Asshats!) but they were the rage before the Max upper. It will at least give you some idea as to shouldered height and the use of open or optical sights. I don’t see any problems either way. I will say the interest doesn’t seem to be all that much; I'll wait till the middle or end of next week to go forward or just let it die. I will let those who posted know the outcome, maybe do a very limited run for the few UT guys interested.

I'm not a big fan of the uzi folder, but that looks cool.

Folded it looks like it was made for the M11.

I would definitely be interested. I would strongly prefer no additional holes be drilled into the frame. I have a Mini-Uzi style stock on my M-11/9 now and would give this one a try as well.

Honestly, I admire anyone contributing anything to our science, sport, and art. So, I commend you there. As for your poll, I noticed there were mostly, if not all, "count me in." I have a Max-11 and I do think your uzi style stock might be low for the optical sights. I am open to seeing one, or trying it out and considering it, but, I would not just throw out a "count me in!" without seeing how it would actually work out. I do think you are doing the right thing in taking a poll before you invest alot of time, energy, and money into this. There might be some potential there, but, unfortunately, you would probably have to "gamble" some in order to find out. I guess it comes down to how much capital you are willing to possibly lose in finding out. From the pics, it does seem it would be "low" for a Max-11, and that is my only reluctance in saying, "count me in! Start making it!" Possibly a good idea, I just don't know.

From the photo (shown again below) it looks like the gun cannot really be gripped properly to be fired with the stock folded. Is this accurate, or is it just the angle of the photograph ? Of course, some people may not consider this important, but I thought I'd ask. I suspect it would be a show stopper for a lot of potential customers.

I recontoured the rear grip to make it more comfortable. this is the bolt on prototype. the one that wouglattach as a normal wire stock has a 1" milled steel piece which leaves the hand grip unaltered thus the grip remins as normal.

I REALLY like this concept- I'm intrested, depending on final price and production configuration.

Not for me thanks. I had too much trouble with Uzi stocks folding up just at the most inopportune time, like when shooting. It's actually worse than the Mac folder letting go. I ended up removing the Uzi folder and getting an original IMI wood stock.

Also, trying to shoot it with the stock folded doesn't look too comfortable.
