Have a link? sounds like an amusing watchThere was a video online of an AR? upper with two 180 drums and two barrels. That would be the ultimate drum fed .22 mac upper.

I used to have one too and it didn't run very well until I took my dremel tool and polished the heck out of the feed lips. Then it ran quite well. I tried it with a GAT trigger crank which ran well but if you cranked it too fast then you would get semi-OOB detonations. I have a few 'genie bottle' shaped cases to prove it.Really want something like this if it can be made to run reliably. 180 mags can be a bit finicky. I have the semi auto version and it struggles even at that.
My full auto runs at 99%. Have you sent yours to Val at E and L?Really want something like this if it can be made to run reliably. 180 mags can be a bit finicky. I have the semi auto version and it struggles even at that.
The lexan mags work well. I like them better than the metal ones because they’re lighter and you can see how many rounds you have left. My gun likes the lexans with the aluminum bottom plates.Do the Lexan 180 mags work? E&L seemingly sells them in a variety of capacities.
I don’t think these are AM15 uppers. It looks like 2 AM180 receivers attached together. I can even see the dimple on the front of the barrel for the AM180 front sight.Double barreled AM15 style upper video:

ETA, you beat me to it.
" I'm not a fan of a big flat drum mounted on a receiver but if it works well it could be fun." I actually really like that look. Closest I'll ever get to a Lewis gun or a DP28I've spent the last two years trying to build a reliable super high cap mag using available 22lr drums as a host for the mac family. Nothing I tired would be production worthy, it would be a product that would frustrate the user. None were reliable enough and would work one time and not the next. They were all a pain in the ass to load. Rim lock was a constant issue. Then there is the 30 rounds or so in the mag tower that could never be fired and subtracted from the overall usable capacity of the mag. I tried all kinds of transitions and angles, the fact is going from 90 degrees out of the drum and then a 20 -28 degree angle into the tower and from single stack to the staggered stacking needed to keep the bullets flat and then back to a single stack in the feed lips is not a easy nut to crack. I spend hundreds on filament and printed a garbage can full of models. I came to the conclusion a few months a go that it was not going to happen and I should spend my time on a dedicated upper using the am180 drums. I'm not a fan of a big flat drum mounted on a receiver but if it works well it could be fun.
Bought it from him. Super nice guy, said it ran great for him. I don't doubt that it ran great in his presence. Doesn't seem to like me as much. Might be happier if I fed it better but CCI mini mags still seem expensive for a .22.My full auto runs at 99%. Have you sent yours to Val at E and L?
Might have to try that. A crank was my original intention but when it would only reliably feed about 1 out of 5 rounds and I got tired of messing with it and put it back in the safe.I used to have one too and it didn't run very well until I took my dremel tool and polished the heck out of the feed lips. Thanks for sharing, note at the end of the video they said "worked that time" apparently I'm not the only one to have dealt with feed issues with that drum! .22 Just doesn't seem the best for full auto. Spent a lot of time with my Lage kit and never did get it to run right. Mags are the weak link there. Finally got it to run about 15-20 rounds between jams and called it good enough. That was after a lot of experimenting. Had to put a spacer in the bottom of the mag to increase spring pressure but it took my capacity down by about 10 rounds. Just the same, if a 180 upper came to market hope springs eternal and I'd give it another go.Here's the link to the twin 180s.
It might be worth trying the aluminum bottom plate. I noticed that the lexan bottom plates flex a little and seemed to bind up the drum a little depending how they fit. The aluminum bottom plates were the key to mine running reliably. I mainly run Blazer. I’ve also been running some federal bulk 36gr hp that I got from Walmart 8 years ago. If I had to run mini mags, it wouldn’t be worth it!Bought it from him. Super nice guy, said it ran great for him. I don't doubt that it ran great in his presence. Doesn't seem to like me as much.
