I actually just came across a post from Vegas, made on nevadashooters.com in 2013, discussing the Sabre. Looks like AA sold them for $1950.00.

Yes, that is true, but that was $1,950 plus shipping for the Gen 1 S.A.B.R.E. for the M10. That "upper" was so heavy (complete gun was over 13 lbs) plus it needed an AR stock adapter, so it was over $2,000 delivered. A.A. also had a package deal for $2,500 where you send them your lower, they would drill the hole, set it up and test it.

As I recall A.A. has some Gen 1 S.A.B.R.E.s that didn't sell out of the first batch of M10 models. As I recall they "blew them out" for $1,800 and the Gen 2 (which the M11/NINE first run) was supposed to be lighter. The next batch of M10 (Gen 2) was supposed to be the "lightened version" like the M11/NINE version. There was never a second batch. It is my understanding that A.A. did do a couple of small batches of 7.62X39 uppers that used AK mags.

I'm sure Sam could verify but his original M10 .22 lr kit has a "floating chamber" so no suppressor use. As previously posted, Sam was going to do a redesign on the M10 .22 lr kit so a suppressor could be used.

Select fire for Richard's M11/15 is great. I can't wait to see the production model.

I would gladly pay that much or more for something similar made by Richard!!

My M11/9 SABRE is still NIB with all original paperwork.

My receipt dated 11/12/2013 shows a total of $1935.00 shipped.

I had previously paid a $100.00 deposit, so my total was $2035.00.

I bought the upper only (opting out of the send-in-your-lower-and-we'll-tune-it-for-you package).

I'm pretty sure BATFE would have to approve use a .22 kit with it since it would not be using an operating rod through the rear of the receiver. Also, the added weight of the sear attachment would affect the kit working. On top of that, converting the .22 bolt to open bolt is going to rob even more energy from the system.

Practical Solutions makes a .22 kit for the M-10. Is there a reason people do not like them?

I don't even think it is on his site now. I'd love one but I don't know if they are really available. When I sent him my m10 for repair a while ago I know he didn't have them.

Really I'd like a good 22 conversion for my m10 that I can run suppressed. I'd personally rather not have it in your m10-15 upper. If you ever got to making like one of your k uppers(or any upper really) I'd be all over it.

Cool. Thanks for the info! I was always curious what they went for.

Man seeing that website takes me back. You want to buy your stuff from an enthusiast, and that company ran way to corporate. I remember I called and asked if their AR-15 stock adapter would work with an M11A1. They said it would and it doesn't. Lage or Practical Solutions would never do that.

$2000 was for the "bare bones" option. No stock, no stock adapter. $2600 was the complete package w/ stock adapter + stock and the drilled they hole in your upper for you.[/URL]

True that $2035 did not get you a stock... but it did get you a stock adapter.

Correct me if I'm wrong but in 2013 AR parts were 3 to 5 x retail price also and hard as hens teeth to find. I remember a guy offered me $300 for a stripped lower I paid $69 for.

I may get flamed for saying this but I was anticipating cost somewhere around $1,200-$1,400 based on pricing of other Lage uppers. If it's more than that I'll have to give up my spot. I know it gives you the ability to fire rifle rounds now but I don't think it should cost close to 3x as much as a 9mm upper.

No flame here but I'm all in. I was close to buying a SABRE. I'm glad I didn't. Heck, I even bought another M11 as a host.

Think of it as less than one tenth of an M-16... easy call if you have a Mac and no other rifle caliber MG.

Speculation on the final price of the MAX-11/15 is premature. We do not have the cost on any of the components right now. I have a rough estimate for the upper shell. The cost driver on the AR parts are going to be the barrel, bolt and bolt carrier. We are not going with the cheapest, lowest quality parts for safety, reliability and durability concerns. Additionally, we need traceability and certifications for the parts. Yes, I know that you can buy a complete AR upper with BCG for $300 or less, but these uppers and parts were not designed to be run as open bolt full auto guns.

At 1/10 the value of your other rifle caliber MG it's an easy call as a shooter to put most of the wear and tear on. Plus, there's almost nothing that can happen to a MAC that can't be fixed. The same can't be said of an M16 RR. Though I am still hoping that at some point down the road Richard will consider selling stripped uppers and bolt carriers to those of us who already own an M1x/15 so the cost of the 2nd, 3rd, etc caliber conversions isn't *quite* as much.

A question for Richard:
Are you considering using a BCG with some sort of coating applied (nickel boron, exo, etc)? For ease of cleaning, enhanced lubricity, and appearance I would love to see a coated BCG! There's really no downside and the cost isn't much more. Brand is a personal choice, but I run Fail Zero in all my uppers. Excellent quality, reasonable price and they're made a few miles down the road from me ;)

I second the above poster.

I could give a crap about any bolt coatings, but a coated carrier is a beautiful thing.

As an aside, if a person could break the clamshell apart without removing the barrel it would be amazing from a practical perspective. AKA - Have the barrel threading on one side of the clamshell if possible so a full strip for cleaning would basically be removing a side cover. Better yet, have the top rail and most of the meat on one side so the only thing that needs to be taken apart is a cover that would consist of half the channel for the BCG.

I dunno... Thinking out loud.

Since the bolt assembly can be removed from the upper without disassembly of the clamshell (unlike the SABRE) , I don't think cleaning will be that big of a deal.

Yes, I am looking at coated bolts and bolt carriers for ease of cleaning.

Richard , Will you have to submit a Proto type to batf for the M 11 A1 version and if so with this slow it from coming to market or even of becoming reality

You are certainly entitled to your opinion. I'm not going to "flame" you for it. I'm guessing you don't own a car as it is so cheap for a car company to make one that you aren't going to pay the manufacturer for R&D and all the tooling involved to make the parts either. Research, product development, and liability are big money. Compare the energy involved and development of the Lage pistol caliber upper to this rifle caliber upper. Yes the AR-15/S.A.B.R.E. gives a good place to start. Certainly MAK-91 did a great job refining the S.A.B.R.E. upper. But Richard really refined that design. I think if A.A. had built the S.A.B.R.E. like Richard's M11/15, they might still be in business. The 5.56X45 NATO round has three times the energy of 9mm. To me a simple blow back pistol caliber upper and a rifle caliber upper with three to four times the # of parts and energy are a world of difference. The pistol caliber is a bolt that has an extra weight on it with a spring, the aluminum shell and a barrel. If you can build the same rifle caliber upper Richard has pictured (there is no patent) and sell it for $1,400, please let me know and I'll buy two. And if you sell a beltfed version for $2,800 and I'll buy four of those. YMMV.

Guys it's not exacty like an AR-15, you'll need a special bolt with a fixed firing pin if I understand this correctly. Imagine how many people would buy parts to build a 7.62x39 or other upper without thinking of that. The ready to run kit makes sense.
