These kits will run on 3D printed mags only?
Lee

No, Sam makes metal mags that will use a mag well insert. I think he makes 20, 30 and 40 rounders. The mag inserts will allow up /down adjustments of the mag for the different tolerances out there and in addition to that for the m10's with all the different mag well locations there will be inserts that will allow positioning of the mag at the correct distance from the barrel.

Unless something changes, for the m11 guys with Lage 22lr mags they should work as I tested with all 3 setups, my 3d printed mags, Lage mags and Sams mags.

MAK91,
thanks for all you’ve done for the MAC community.

This is some awesome news.

Has a rough price point been set for these;
If so, could we get an idea of where they’ll be?

Please don't everyone go out and start pestering Sam about these uppers and what I am about to say. Every email, phone call and text message they have to answer just adds to the time these will be available. The 4 uppers that were submitted to the atf all came back with positive determination letters, meaning they will be legal to manufacture/ sell / own, they are not a firearm or machine guns in of them self's. This includes the m10/308 NATO. Sam has been very busy trying to catch up on his current work. Once he has had time to figure out machine time, costs and all he will make his official announcements so look for that and DON'T HOUND HIM. I can tell you that as of now the 22lr upper for the baby m11 aka m11a1, short frame m11 or what ever you want to call it will be the first to market.

Great update.

Do you know if the kits are going to use your 3D mag design or his older M11 22 mags?

I think I got on the list June 8 2022. I'm not sure where that is in the line.

Matt, I believe right now the plan is to use his metal mags with a mag well insert but the 3d printed mags are still an option. This upper will run on both the small and large grip guns just a different mag insert.

.308, wow! I recall seeing that a while ago. Exciting times to be a MAC owner for sure.

By all means get on the list. I believe they have lists going for all 4 uppers. What will be counter productive is for everyone to contact them asking the 2 questions that have yet to be determined "how much" and "when can I get one".

This is great news. Is the list the email you have use early on, or is there a different list on Sam's website? I believe I emailed the original address back when you gave it out.

Was this a faster than expected approval on the uppers? It seems like they used to go into a black hole with ATF.

This bodes well for the grail upper - the 12G!

I’m assuming that the 12G (if viable) is a separate ATF submission?

We have been sitting on the determination letters to give Sam some time to get things in order. Until he knows cost and time it will take to make the parts and assemble them there is no real information to tell you guys. I think it took about a year or so for the letters to come back.

The m10/12ga will need its own submission but honestly its the same basic design as the m10/308 NATO just a different caliber.

Congratulations on the approvals. Thanks for the info. With the similar design styles hopefully future approvals will go relatively quickly

I was talking with Tina sometime ago and axed her about the status of the 22 for a swd m11/9 and she said that she had me on the list for both uppers. I didn't going into details with her at the time. Does anybody know which other 22 upper that they are working on? She knows that I only have the one type gun.

Can someone clarify what the four lists are? I know there are the .308, 12ga, and .22 conversions. What is the fourth?

If I understand correctly. The list is for the for the 4 variant of Mac style family in the caliber 22, 308, 12 ga. But I may be wrong.

My guess is three 22 kits and the 308. I don’t think there’s a 12G list yet or I’d be begging to be first 🤣
