M11 380 small mag well magazine springs

I have 7 steel small mag well magazines for my RPB M11 380. Of the seven one is 100% reliable. The main difference between them, is the reliable mag spring is 2 to 3 coils longer than the others (at 10.75" OAL )

Does anyone have a source for replacement (small steel) mag springs?

While Wolf doesn’t make a specific mag spring for the small frame Mac style magazine, could you use the dimensions of the mag to find a similar magazine spring that would fit? I don’t know, I am asking.

I can't find any .380 mag springs that long. Most 9mm mag springs are too wide,

I understand that Wolf doesn’t list a spring, but I can’t imagine that you’re the only one that has ever wanted new springs. Maybe Wolf customer service has an idea of maybe two springs that could be wired together that would serve the same purpose. I have seen were someone making 50 round Grease Gun mags would use fine copper wire and wire two Grease Gun mag springs together. Stretching the original springs seems like that would be a short term solution to a long term problem. I remember seeing multiple mags welded together. It was so long hanging out of a Mac style registered receiver, it looked more like a walking stick than a mag in a Mac. Good luck with your mag spring replacement project.

I welded a 50 & 30 z-mag together and 3D printed a coupler for both springs to push against. Looks kinda like a small magazine follower.

If I had a small grip 380 I’d sacrifice one magazine spring cut into 3 or 4 pieces to add 10% to the length of a 30round spring. You’d probably lose 2 - 4 rounds capacity depending on variables but you gain some serious spring pressure.

As a side note, I swapped the 30round Z-mag springs out for PAM-2 springs. Direct swap and much thicker wire with more coils, makes more force pushing against the cartridge stack.

I tried several 9mm mag springs in the .380 small mag well magazines, so far best fit is the springs from 33-rd Glock mags.

Just an Update, Russel Weeks sold the small 380 mag dies to FTF. Except for the mag follower die. He was never able to purchase that. That's why FTF sell a plastic follower for thier newer reproduction 380 mags. He told me that years ago.

I actually just bought some FTF small mags a few weeks ago, and they now come with a metal follower. It is also a slightly different design. Whereas the previous ones I bought have another plate welded on the back that the magazine catch engages, these newer ones do not. Instead, there is a lip that has been formed on the back.

I also checked to see of the Glock 33 round mag spring fit the M11A1 small metal mags. The springs fit the mag body but they do not fit into the OEM metal follows.

I believe it is still just 30rd, but not sure. I loaded up three different types with 30rds, and at least two could not fit another round in, but can’t recall which was which. They are the same dimensions, so I suspect the capacity is the same.

May have try the new ones, bought a bunch of the previous generation FTF mags when they came out and they are almost unusable. Total bear to load
