M11/9 - MAC10

I have some extra cash to throw around, and I really do not know if I want to buy a M11/9 or just throw some bills at a MAC10.

I honestly do not like the idea of sending cash to someone with a FA on a Form 4. I would much rather have that assurance of buying from someone reputable on a Form 3 (plus my local range lets me shoot everything I get transferred in while I am waiting on the Form 4). Seems like it is hard to come across any fair market priced M11s and I doubt any of them will pop up.

On the other hand though, Mac 10s are undoubtedly everywhere. So with that being said

Throw some opinions my way!

I know there are tons of uppers for the M11/9 because of Lage.

There are a handful of uppers for the Mac 10.

MAC 10 OR MAC 10A1? I want to be able to run a .22 conversion kit, and I see someone on the forums and NFA guns on FB is in the trial period of a 7.62x39 upper for the MAC 10.

Sounds like you have listed your options fairly well. Lower prices will be more likely from individuals. If you want Form 3 transfers, it will tend to be from dealers with higher pricing. As far as whether to buy a M10 or M11/NINE, the M11/NINE is significantly higher right now. Once the Lage Max-10/15 starts shipping, I think that the price difference will diminish. Lage will always offer more products for the M11/NINE because there are over twice as many M11/NINEs in the registry as all the M10s. If you have twice as many potential buyers for one model than the other, twice as many M11/NINE products will tend to be sold. Either way, I doubt you'll loose money buying any type of Mac style RR right now. Good luck with your search.

I have an m10/45 and m11/9. I think I like the fat mac more. And it can be converted to 9mm fairly cheap. The m10a1 is a texas mac. If your buying to shoot just buy the cheapest one you can find. If you want it for investment look for a powder springs. 22 conversions are hard to find for m10's. For the cost of a 22 conversion you could get a complete setup to reload and if you cast your own bullets it's cheaper than 22 and a lot more fun.

David Spiwak has two Fleming 22 kits up right now, one for the M10, one for the M11. I've heard they can take some time to get them to run reliably.

Me too. 450 was steep, but I would happily tinker with an M10 Fleming at that price.

There will be pretty much the same uppers for the m10 vs m11 in a few years

The big advantage of the m10 is you get 45 and 9mm. While m11 is 9mm only

Get a m10/45 while prices are lower than m11’s

I’m not a fan of form 4 transfers either ..Ive done a couple

I agree with Scott the M-10 guns will plain right out with the M11 stuff once the M-10 stuff is out on the market.
I also feel that 450 for a flemming kit is decent I would have bought the M-10 one for that.

I paid more then 450 for mine almost 10 years ago I think.
I also don't shoot it a whole bunch it's just nice to have.

Get an m10/45 I love mine. You’ve got more flexibility with it. Go all the way and get the original famous Mac 10. 45acp suppresses better as well.

i chose the m10/45 and the m11/a1 large mag and skipped the m11/9

ive got the big boy with 45/9mm and will have all the same uppers the m11/9 has

and the m11/a1 which is more of a handgun/microuzi size gun...the GG and CFWa bolt makes it a 9mm just like a Glock 18/microuzi.

if you can afford both they are a great combo. sure the m11/9 is smoother than the m11/a1, but its awkward looking with that extra 2"in back.

once the m11/15 comes out for the m10 i think you will see all macs pretty equal in price. i think the m11a1 will be the more expensive mac thanks to the GG
