I just got a M11/9 SMG with a Lage Max 31 Mark2 upper that takes the suomi drums. I took it out to shoot it today and it shot fine on semi, but would stop firing after about 5-6 rounds in full auto. It would not jam, just stop firing on it's own with the bolt open even though I was still pulling the trigger. I could then release the trigger and pull it again and it would shoot another 5-6 rounds. Does anyone know what could be causing this?

Remove the semi auto sear trip, and that’ll probably fix your problem.

It's a common problem. Some people remove the trip because slow fire uppers don't need it. The ROF is slow and it's easy to pull singles. In my case the trip got hit by the bolt because of trip/selector alignment problem. I replaced the trip and the problem went away.

Thank you very much i'll concentrate on the trip, replace/remove and see how that goes. Thanks for the quick responses!

The m11 I just got does that with the stock upper. It never happened with the Lage upper though. I was going to mess with modifying the trip or switching it out, but once I took it out and put in a Lage full auto only trigger I never went back. Maybe someday when I get bored I'll get around to tinkering with it

I had a similar problem with my M11/9. It turned out to be a broken trigger spring. The broken spring was not putting enough tension on the disconnector and causing it to slip off the sear.
