They may increase in desirability, but there are simply way more m11s out there than Uzis. Uzis are more iconic.

Theres more M16s than reisings, yet the desirability of the m16 means the price is triple.

well said, it has nothing to do with iconism, but more with versatility. there are already quasi m16 uppers, drum/.coffin uppers, soon to be shotgun uppers, m16 uppers, and the MGI of Macs thanks to ultimac. Mark my words, I love the UZI, but Macs will become like M16's, but less expensive, yet more expensive and desirable than UZI's
I already have the m11/9 556 upper, and drum upper, and have less than $9,000 into it. Whereas a RR Sandra will set me back 20k with one upper

ETA, I own a transferable Mini and full size its not that I am agains Uzis :)

I think I addressed that in my statement.

Moreover, those aren’t remotely similar MGs. A better example for your argument would be FA mini14.

It’s all conjecture, but my opinion is that given a choice between the two, more would take an Uzi over an m11/9. They work as is right out of the box no fuss no muss this is what they are.

Having said that, people w mg knowledge and insight would over look that due to all the aforementioned accessories. But that’s not the majority of buyers.

Think back to your mg knowledge as a newbie, vs today. There’s a lot more newbie buyers and unknowledgeable owners (collectors- by that I mean the buy and safe queen storage ) than seasoned Owners. And the potential buyers: a lot more who’ve never owned a mg than have.

The accessories help close the gap for sure, but my opinion is the uzi stays on top in price point.

Since your iconic mini uzi isn’t as versatile, Would you sell it for less than the m11/9? if so, I will buy it.

I have both and while the uzi is build like a tank, I prefer to shoot my Lage M11/9. The only reason I keep the UZI is I don't need the $ and it's iconic.

I have 2 Macs and no Uzi... although I do like uzi’s. If I was in the market for a 3rd right now I’d be buying another mac. Uzi’s are cool as hell, but as far as I’m concerned the Macs are easily the best value in transferables. I fully expect the prices of Macs to catch and likely surpass uzi’s someday. Back in the day when regular guys wanted different mg experiences they could usually afford to put together a collection of different guns. These days at current prices I feel the average buyer (if not going FFL SOT route) is probably only going to ever buy 1-3 guns or so, meaning easy versatility will be a premium. Just my $.02 That said, I would trade a Mac for a Lightning Link right now... remember.. you can’t pay too much for a transferable, you can only pay it too soon! =D. I don’t think I would be willing to trade one on an Uzi overall.

It seems everyone agrees on the pros and cons of each so I don't know what there is to argue about. Some people prefer one to the other, that's fine. The prices tell the story and there is no reason to try to predict the future. Having said that :) , I think Uzi prices will stay pretty steady and M11s will rise in value as a result of increased versatility through new products. Will they ever cross? Well, why does that imaginary line matter? I hope M11s stay affordable...more uppers!

Get both. It's tough to beat Uzi reliability and nostalgia. I don't think I've ever had a failure of any kind with my reg uzi bolt gun...it just runs and runs.

I do love the fact I can put a .223 upper on my Mac though. For the price, the versatility of the Mac beats other MGs.

we dump thousands of dollars into guns. That gives us pretty good reason to speculate their value in the future

Wow that’s some short sightedness there- I make a great living predicting the future.

I’ll settle this here and now- anyone want to trade an Uzi for an M-11/9? I got a few. I’ll throw in a ZMAG.

When/if someone takes this offer, that will be the day.
