M11A1 barrel manufacturer quality

I finally got my M11A1 380 barrel out. Now to get a new one. There are a few manufacturers out now. The question is does any of them do anything different to extend the life of the barrel and improve feeding? Or should I grab an unused old stock barrel? I would think the newer barrels are made better.

I’d just get one from a reputable manufacturer that’s OEM spec.
As for barrel life, You’re not going to shoot the barrel out.
I think TheColtCollector had tens of thousands of rounds through a Mac barrel and it was still in decent shape.

I have one of these ordered but not in hand yet to review. Converting a 380 gun to 9mm with a cfw bolt. I got one with the tri-lug made with the barrel.

ILWT makes a good barrel, I have an older one with smaller flats which is annoying, but the barrel itself was nice. I think they enlarged the flats.

You can always enlarge flats on a belt sander

Correct. I think 50k down the pipe you would struggle to see it

Ha figures. ILWT does not seem to have m11a1 barrels. Do they make them and they are out? Or did I overlook them. What flats are you referring to for being small.

The link I posted has both 1/2” threaded and 3-lug 380 barrels.

All say m11/9 to mean the longer barrel for the m11 not for the m11a1. They take different barrels.

m11/9 and 380 guns are identical from the magwell forward regardless if it’s a small magwell or large magwell. All the fire control parts and barrels are interchangeable. ?

So this might be a dumb question...

I have a RPB M11A1 frame here im gathering parts to try to get back up and running.

Can I chop down a M11/9 upper to fit the 380 gun? They seem to be alot easier to find than 380 uppers.

Technically you can chop down an 11/9 upper but there are some issues.

Three things to note... the ejection port will be large but that won't affect function.

The other issues -the bottom side of the upper, when you chop the 2 inches you will remove this reinforcement underneath.
Finally, the factory top charging style has ribs on the side that won't let you install into the lower, a newer smooth sided upper will work though as they don't have the ribs.

I saw that a few days ago. Would have hopped on it then with that price but at the time I did not know the barrels were interchangeable. Im interested.
