What is the better m11a1 to buy, rpb or swd, what uses the cheapest mags? I'd hate to have a machine pistol and only be able to afford or find one or two mags for it. TIA Thinking of rounding out the mac collection with a 380 model.

I have a SWD M-11A1 .380 ACP. Love it.

SWD Uses the same Zytel mags as the 9mm.
Cheap, Plentifull but they wear out.

RPB uses steal mags harder to find, but last forever.
RPB is also a slight bit smaller gun.
.380 is subsonic, sounds great with a can.

Besides that, other differences are minor.
Somebody here has one, it was at the UT shoot.

The SWD M11-A1 can take the steel South African M11/9mm mags. I have 6, and they feed .380 just fine.

The steel SA mags cost about $10 each, whereas the original RPB mags cost around $100+ each when you can find them.

As for "smaller", only the grip is smaller on the RPB due to the size of the mag. Otherwise, the guns are the same size.

Technically, you could convert an SWD over to the RPB style grip and mags (or vice-versa).

The SWD guns came with a superior bolt design.
