Came across a little mac I am not familiar with and wanted to know more about it. It is not for sale, just one I have never heard of.

It is a Cobray/MAC and RPB double stamp gun marked M11 9mm, not 9mm Kurtz or 380ACP. It is chambered in 9x19mm but is the little baby mac frame, not the longer M11/9. I dont remember reading anything about these in The Mac Man but I could be wrong.

Does anyone have any more info on these that I can give the owner?

No pics. The owner didn't want any taken.

It's like a half scale M10. Perfect proportions to the M10 (short overhang behind the grip) but just tiny. I thought it was a M11A1 when I saw it but it isn't. I believe it was just marked M11 and 9mm.

If it’s marked like this, then it’s an M11 manufactured by the original Military Armament Corporation in Powder Springs, GA. Definitely a .380 despite the “9mm Auto” marking. This is not a dual stamp Powder Springs/RPB gun.0615C939-9F5A-4425-9D12-B80655C701E5.jpeg

I don't believe it was marked 9mm Auto, just 9mm. I'll ask and double check that.

The owner said they havnt shot it in years but seems to remember running 9x19 though it.

Its not the single shot version is it "s" marked iirc.

There was an odd short run of a 1 shot wonder somewhere in that timeline.

Nope. Has a giggle switch. I'll know more tomorrow.

I could just not have seen things right. We shall see.

My M11 is a double stamp that is marked 9mm Auto with a “K” added at the end in a different font. Ruben has one on his site right now with the same markings.

FWIW, 9x19 is too long to work in the small magazine/mag well.

My RPB/MAC M11A1 is marked "9mm Auto" like the image above, although it is a 380. RPB stamped a "K" after the "Auto" to avoid confusion.

like others have said, it is likely one of the “9mm auto” stamped examples. Or it could be a MAXI MAC conversion or an SGW MINI-9, those are the only two 9x19 baby macs out there as far as I know. If it is an original factory MAC gun that’s unmodified, then it’s definitely not a 9x19 gun and the owner is likely just confused by the misleading stamp… he’s not the only one that was, according to the MACMAN book, european users of the guns were trying to load 9mm into the guns but 9mm magazines do not even fit in the magwell, as a result they milled the markings off and changed it to 380.

The “SS M11” was a 380 gun. just had a plate welded over the bottom of the magwell, ATF ended up classifying them all as machine guns. A few slipped through the cracks and they are floating around out there, but as far as I know, they are all 380 guns.

I saw the owner today and forgot to bump him on it. Might see if it'll come out next time we go shoot sub guns and confirm.
