Prob going to be cheaper to SBR it. Best bet would be if you can find a brace that fits ace pattern. However, I'm pretty sure you have no stock cutouts to attach anything to.

Ah, yes! 7075-T6 Aluminum

probably best not to try to weld that to steel

If I am not mistaken, those are made from aluminum, so they can't be welded. Bolting the "pig nose" would be the way to go. There are also options for a small section of Piccatinny rail, which could be welded (steel) or bolted (aluminum). Good luck with the project.

That's a good idea. Just welding a small section of pic rail would be the way to go as that is looking like a standardized buttstock attachment method going forward. We get lots of lookie loos with semis that want either lage uppers or the other accessories. Most of them end up doing the math and realize it's not worth it for a gun worth $300-500. Especially with that 11a1 gun, I'd not alter it as it should be collectible at this point. I'd do these changes with an MPA if I were going to do them at all.

Check out this 9mm glock mag aluminum lower "Mac". I'd SBR that and swap out the barrel once approved.

Do they have the buffer tube stock adapters for the a1? If so you could use a normal AR brace, or weld some steel rail on the back and use a sig mcx brace perhaps?

Thanks for all the suggestions guys. I think any welding or drilling on this piece would indeed destroy any resale value. I'm not much of a mechanic but I might be able to cobble together a brace kind of like the ones that bolt under the pistol grips of AKs
Thanks Again A

I'll bite..I got one toooo

Whats the issue or is there one with installing the factory stock cut outs in the rear?

They do make stocks & I thought adapters that fit Under the rear and were secured with One bolt through A Hole thats already there.....?!

Chunk of rail bolted to rear/bottom....IDK...have not seen these New braces/stocks that mount that way. Can't be much better or Worse than the 2 options listed above.

Stock "cuts" seems like the easy answer....dremel time.

MPA sells a buffer tube adaptor for $30 that MIGHT work on your gun.

The theory might be:
If you cut the holes AND you own a stock, you could be charged w constructive possession of an Sbr.

There’s prob a reason they sold pistols without the stock adapter holes. Maybe it was just preventative.

If you weld that adapter and use a tube stock w arm brace that would seemingly be ok. I don’t know though. If you have a couple extra ar15 stocks that could go on that tube just lying around, well… I doubt you’d get into trouble but if they busted you for selling meth I’m sure they’d add the sbr violation to your crime list.

No stock adapter holes on a pistol
