Then you don't want a M11A1 which would be a late RPB build or any SWD .380acp gun which also carries the model of M11A1.

Keep looking. I'm sure you won't be disapointed in an original!

why? because it is THE origional mac 11. afterall, in the name mac10/mac11 the "mac" stands for Military armament corporation (M.A.C.) and vegas, i believe the M11A1 actually is an origional ingram. the RPBs were the exact same model gun, they bought the rights from M.A.C. and some parts from them, and iv never seen an SWD m11a1, is it the same kind of thing? or is it more like an m11/9?

heres what wikipedia says... The Ingram MAC-11 (Military Armament Corporation Model 11) is a machine pistol developed by American gun designer Gordon Ingram at the Military Armament Corporation (MAC) during the 1970s. The weapon is a sub-compact version of the Model 10 (MAC-10), and is chambered to fire the smaller .380 ACP round.

This weapon is sometimes confused with the Sylvia & Wayne Daniels M-11/9 or the Vulcan M-11-9, both of which are later variants of the MAC chambered for 9 mm Luger Parabellum cartridge.[1]

That's a very handy reference but it doesn't list the RPB M11A1 which were built late in RPB's history. When RPB bought the MAC receivers at auction, they built the .380 MAC-11 (and over stamped them with their information along with the MAC-10s), until they ran out of ready to build frames. At that point, they renamed the small frame guns M11A1s, a model designation SWD also used.

Also note that "Cobray" never built a gun. It's a registered trademark found on many MACs regardless of manufacturer but none were ever papered as Cobrays. The Stephensville MACs are an exception due to Wayne Daniels suing to force James Leatherwood to remove the trade mark name and pregnant serpent logo from the RPB frames he purchased from the bankruptcy auction. Daniels re stamped the logo back into the milled out circles on the Texas MACs when he purchased them from Leatherwood.

I can hardly wait for the definitive MAC book to be released!

P.S. I use this http://www.mac-11.net/ and http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MAC-11 for most of my info. Well that, and VegasSMG's seemingly photographic memory...

That's not too bad a price for the smaller 380.

Considering a couple decades ago they were going for $450 and the M11/9s were going for $300. Twenty years later just add a zero to the end of the price and it's actually ballpark. ($4500/3000)

It's not the cost of the weapon, it's the availability and cost of mags.

I've seen some crazy prices on M11A1 mags.

They're out there... you want something unique, ya shuts up and pays the price... or go with a not so unique RPB (same mag), or the cheaper SWD model which uses the Zytels and be done with it.
