Quick question; I have a Vulcan V10 (I heard, it's junk) and I was wondering, it has the charging handle that's kind of in between the newer MPAs totally flat disc, but not quite the old school classic M10 style with the deep cutout in the middle. I'm wondering if the old original charging handle will fit my closed bolt Vulcan.

It won’t work, the charging handles on those closed bolt guns are designed so that they won’t spin in the charging handle slot. The original M10 smg handles are designed to rotate 360 degrees to lock the bolt as a safety mechanism when rotated, the bolt has a spring detent and the handle has 4 dimples, one on each side of the post for the detent, the detent interfaces with the dimples to lock it at every 90 degree rotation. The closed bolt semi bolt assembly does not have this detent so the M10 smg bolt handle will just spin freely in the closed position.

I see. It's too bad no one's making repros that imitate the classic look from the 80's. That's actually hard to believe. Probably a small shop somewhere that doesnt advertise.

The MAC 10 was a '70's gun. And 1986 brought in the end of new machine guns for civilians. Pretty much the only thing from the '80s worth remembering is "Fast Times at Ridgemont High".
MHO, YMMV, etc.

I’m pretty heavily immersed in the MAC world.. I have a business specializing in vintage mac parts and accessories. There is nobody making reproductions of the old ribbed handles (or any old school parts) for the closed bolt semi M10. The closed bolt semi auto M10s are pretty unpopular and scarce, nobody is going out of their way to make custom replica parts for them, there’s no market for it. I make and sell replica fake folding stocks for the semi autos, it’s basically the only replica old school part on the market for those closed bolt guns… the market for retro style M10 parts for semi auto closed bolt MACs is extremely small. Most people want the opposite nowadays and wanna make their MAC look the least like an old MAC they possibly can… modern tacticool rail mounted crap, LAGE uppers etc etc. very few actually appreciate the original design.

I see. That sucks lol. I remember being a kid in the 80's and the macs and uzis were the coolest guns on the tv. I was always enamored by them. Now I have 1 of each and I love them to death. The 'crap' closed bolt models never stay on gunbroker or armslist. They usually sell pretty quickly. There must be SOME market for them as I've heard they made quite a few, didnt they? And would you know if there's any way to put the old telescoping stock on a closed bolt semi? I'm guessing not because of the trigger mech?

Yeah, they tend to sell quickly on GB because they honestly don’t pop up much. This is the closed bolt M10 style MPAs and Texas guns etc I’m talking about.. the m11/9s are plentiful and often sit forever on GB without any takers, but when closed bolt M10 style pistols pop up they sell fast, they didn’t really make that many of them… tons of the 11/9s, not as many M10s.

As for the stock… well, no.. unfortunately you cannot adapt the old wireform collapsible stock to the closed bolt semi for the reason you suspected, the fire control parts block the path of the struts. The closest you’re gonna get is a fake dummy wire folder that bolts to the rear end of the gun and gives it “the look” but does not unfold or function, at least it doesn’t require any NFA registration, as it’s non functional… I make them from old original wire stock parts and sell them on GB from time to time.
