Magazine Identification

Hello! You may remember my last post about the identification of the Lusa magazines mislabeled as Uzi mags. Well, I'm back again with another one. Any insight on this double stack, single feed mag on the right side of the picture? Probably a 30ish round mag. The mag on the left is for a Feather AT9, for reference.
Apologies if this is not Uzi-specific. Please let me know if I should move this thread to another forum. I don't mean to clog up this forum, but you are all just a wealth of knowledge that I figured I would come here first!

Any markings of any kind on the bodies? I'm clueless man, sort of shaped like MAC but those mag catch protrusions are different. Doesn't look like any usual suspect mags to me. Hang in there

No markings of any kind. The triangular shape is definitely MAC-ish but you’re right, the catches are different.The opposing catches (one notch facing up, one notch facing down) that are so high up on the mag are really stumping me. Given the follower is that cheap-looking (ABS?) plastic, I’m guessing it is aftermarket, to whatever it belongs to.

very few like 200 kits were brought in and mags are non existant.

I'll check with my guy in NY that has one of these kits.

I’m not overly familiar with them, but Tec-9 mags don’t seem to be triangular-shaped like this one is. Some also seem to have stops built in, which this one does not have.

The 30’s as in 1930s? The follower on this is some kind of plastic, so could it be an aftermarket mag for those kits? I’d appreciate any input your NY contact has!

Ok, that’s it- I see it now. The stops/notches aren’t like any other mags I saw online, but you are correct.

Now I’m faced with a decision… which model Tec 9 to get?!

Definitely the mini, the full size shroud extends out over the muzzle threads requiring a special rear end cap on your suppressor to reach down in.

However that is definitely not a factory magazine, back in the day there were a couple manufacturers that were famous for using extremely thin sheet metal to make something that looked like magazines but were incapable of feeding ammunition into a gun. More like a bolt hold open device that used live cartridges...

If that's one of those the best use for it is to drill a large hole into a wood block and epoxy it in to make a display stand for your Miami vice special.

I knew a guy who cut down the shroud on his TEC-9 so his suppressor could screw on. A 'don't raise the bridge, lower the river' approach. Not something that I would do, but it's his gun, and it worked for him.

The one I had was a A.A arms AP-9 I preferred the frame mounted safety and much better sights, fit and finish was a lot better also.
just found one on gun broker wow price has gone up a bit I believe I paid $125 for mine back in the day..

I see someone already chimed in and said this is a TEC-9 mag but I will take it a step further and show you exactly what Tec-9 mag it is.

That’s a TEC-9 mag made by USA magazines in the early 90s. They are junk. The plastic baseplate and plastic follower is distinctly a feature of USA magazines. They made them in a few different sizes, I have a couple of the long 50rd examples. They are all slab sided with no mag stops and have a thick enamel painted finish.

Tec-9 mags are all trapezoid/triangle shape like Swedish K/m10 9mm mags, and have the front and rear catches at the top. The original factory magazines sold with the interdynamic KG9, the open bolt predecessor to the TEC-9, were early MAC powder springs walther manufactured M10 mags that were repurposed by Interdynamic to fit the KG9. They had a small slot milled into the rear at the top for the mag catch and a small shim spot welded to the front at the top and still had the MAC-10 mag stops on the side in the wrong location for the KG9/tec-9. Those walther mags are very valuable now so it’s hard to believe Interdynamic once bought them in bulk and cut them up for the KG9, but they did.

Edit, forgot the pic. I think this catalog predates the plastic baseplate crappy version with the punched out mag catches.. this one is a little older and the mag was a better copy of the factory mag in this catalog, but it is indeed a USA magazine from some point in the early 90s
