I finished up the charging handle 'bearing plate' today. Fits nicely. I didn't have my 7075 upper with me today, so I tested it in my 3d printed version of the upper. The fitment is 100% on the 7075 (printed version is a little funny). Also included a pic of the mill, and fitment of the barrel block in the delrin upper (again, I left the 7075 upper at home).

I worked on the top sight rail today. I bought a 31" rail extrusion from Brownells as the basis for it. I milled 0.300" off the bottom to get the height I wanted. The SABRE design uses socket cap screws - which I never thought looked right. I used flat cap screws instead. Anyhow, after milling the height, I drilled and countersunk the mounting holes per the drawings. Turned out nice overall! I mounted up a set of the cheap magpul buis.

Looking good Graham. With your personal project and the other builds going on, it has made for some enticing reading.

Can't wait for the shoot video!

Today I worked on the recoil assembly / carrier / sear catch. I had to machine the carrier to for the sear catch, make and pin the recoil rod assembly, and pin the sear catch in. Everything seemed to go to plan. The only things left are - 1. De-burr and fit everything, 2. Remake the charging handle to sit 0.025" higher so the bolt is clocked correctly, 3. Drill and tap the top of the housing for the rail I made, and finally 4. Drill a hole in the back of my m11/9

Here's some pictures of today's work....

The upper was black and now it's silver again?

I have 3 uppers. One 3D Printed, one Delrin (the black one), and one 7075 (the silver one). I had lent the 7075 upper to a friend so he could make the recoil plug for the carrier. I have it back now.
