Max-11/22 to M11/22 conversion possible?

Hey guys, long time lurker with few posts while I patiently wait for my M11/9 to be set free from ATF jail. I got a correction letter last week (dealer didn't know that I needed to sign the form 4's) so hopefully it will be approved soon-ish.

With that said does anyone know if it's possible to convert a max-11 mk2 .22 kit for use as a regular M11/22 kit? The reason I ask is because I've found a max-11/22 mk2 kit for sale, but plan to build a dedicated sidecocking .22 upper.

Any info would be appreciated as I couldn't find the answer by searching. Thanks!

Simple. Simple mod. Just unscrew the top mount on the bolt and then measure and cut the barrel insert to your desired length. Or just order another barrel insert from Lage so then you can use your set up in a max upper or stock upper. IMHO.

Not sure. If you have the "Mk2" bolt and it has the tapped holes in it then yes. All you would need is the top bolt "Sled" and a longer barrel to compensate the longer barrel in the Max upper.

does the same thing go for using a m11/22 bolt in the max 11?

Technically wouldn't even need a longer barrel for the MAX, or shorter for a MAC. The bullet won't ever touch the 9mm barrel, so barrel length is mostly for aesthetics, or threading.
