I'm trying to decide between the Lage MAX-11 mk2 or MAX-11k for my SWD M11/nine.

They seem extremely similar, but take different stocks. My choice may turn on ejection port noise at the shooter's ear. Is the ejection port further away from the ear with either upper using Lage stocks?

1) I plan to shoot suppressed using a GSL Phoenix and wonder if anyone knows if there is a perceivable difference in "back end noise" between the mk2 and k that may dilute the quieting effect of the can? (port timing?)

2) Also, the shooter's support hand would be closer to the suppressor body with the 11k. Have any of you any practical experience shooting the MAX-11 or MAX11k suppressed regarding hot hands or tendency to burn fingers?

Any and all comments or suggestions are welcome.

The only noticeable difference for me is that the ROF on the K is a touch higher when suppressed. Then again, it’s higher unsuppressed, too. With the same can and ammo, they sound the same. You might want to look at Lage’s internal gas block if you haven’t done so already.

Both uppers are great. No burned fingers on either. It comes down to looks and ROF (with or without the VBS). Even if you only have one M11, I’d get both.

You don't mention a CFW bolt, if you don't have one you'll want the longer Max-11

I've run the 11K and 11SK suppressed with no issues. I prefer the SK, but that may be due to a slightly lower ROF with the CFW bolt that's in it. Stocks shouldn't be a deciding factor as you can change those out in seconds.

I forgot there is a K with the overhead weight, I'd go for the SK with a CFW. Net about $450 more, but hey you bought a machinegun don't get cheap now ;-)

Thanks for all the suggestions.

I'm wait-listed for the CF-W nine A bolt and we'll see what happens there for any subsequent production. Otherwise, CF-W bolts seem rare as hen's teeth on resale market.

I joined the wait-list for MAX-11 mk2 and MAX-11k. The SWD M11/9 is still in jail, so maybe all these bits will come together around the same time?

Thanks again!

I do like the non-reciprocating charging handle on the SK vs the K. If I can score a tungsten bolt, I'll probably drop out of the MAX-11k wait and get an SK, instead.

While you wait, see if Bowers has a silicone rubber sleeve that fits your can. You can hold onto the can after many mag dumps with the sleeve. Even if you don't ever hold the can while shooting it's nice to have the sleeve to keep accidents down and so you can give it a twist every few mags to make sure that it's not walking off.

Because it is a great product. They are expensive and most that pony up the money want compact with a lower ROF. Since the CF(W) bolts do those things so well most buyers want to keep them. I am fortunate enough to own six of them, three full size, two original A bolts, and one second generation A bolt. And no, I am not looking to sell any for any price. Congratulations on your purchase.

M11k here, because I like the ROF of the max bolt and the weight of the package. the CFW bolt adds a little too much weight for me in the small package, and I like the ROF a little zippier. I'd like the non-reciprocating charging handle, but not really worth it to run the CFW bolt all the time for me.

I have both the M11k and the CFW-A bolt and I prefer the M11K to the CFW. CFW adds a lot of weight to the gun. I don’t even notice the reciprocating charging handle of the M11K. My Ghost upper with the CFW bolt is more compact and will always have a place in my arsenal but I prefer the M11K.
