I had a very successful break-in this afternoon of the double feed conversion. We went through about 600 rounds of various ammo, WWB, Federal, Tula, and some of my 3.6gr UC - 147gr reloads. I have six converted Suomi's and we had ZERO malfunctions with the exception of one magazine that had a mag catch too high. No stove pipes, FTFire, FTEject, FTExtract... the conversion is just plain awesome. Loading the 36 round Suomi's is so damn easy, it's sick... and 36 round mag dumps seem to last forever.

That gun sure has come a long way. Nice job!

I know I've said it before, but I actually think it's almost done :D

I still need the Lage grip and perhaps a new finish, but other than that, I'm VERY happy with it. It is definately one of a kind!

...I still need the Lage grip...
Every time I see your gun, that's exactly what I'm thinking. The Lage grip will complete it! Maybe an extended safety too? I very seldom use mine, but there are the occasional matches that require you to have the gun on safe prior to the clock starting. It's a nice bit of kit for short money.

Congrats on building a great running little buzz gun upper that uses the awesome Soumi mags. I remember seeing Richard's MAX-11K about 3+ years ago and thought the size was just about perfect. I think I'm number one or two on that list if and when he ever sells it commercially.

What Lage grip are you waiting for steel or molded? I shortened a molded one for my Max-11 k.

Medphys' Max-11 k is a little longer than Richard's prototype. Now there are three sizes like the Glock 17, 19 and 26 or 1911 Gov't 5 inch, Commander and Officer's model...

I just love the custom mods to the M11/9. It reminds me of a time when they were $300 machines.

Sorry for the slight absence lately, we've been on vacation down in Univesal Studios, Orlando over the past few days. Tuesday and Wednesday were wonderfull, but the past 36 or so hours have been a bit misserable. My wife came down with food poisoning starting Thursday morning... crossing the finish line about 6am Friday morning as we returned from the ER after getting IV fluids and nausea meds. Got to bed around 6:30a and up at 8:30a to hit the airport for the return flights. We got home about 2 hours ago and needless to say, I'm spent.

Vegas SMG- Thanks for the compliment! It's taken me a while, but it's really close to being done. Now if I could just find the time to shoot the damn thing.

AZ Doug- The molded grip with the quick mag release is the one I've got my eyes on. I didn't know there was a steel one?

Az Doug and strobro32- Thank you SOOOO much for your help with all my mods. It would not be what it is today without you guys.

strobro32- I can't wait for some specifics on the mods you are planning for the frankenstremple. I know it's going to be a bad-ass gun and can't wait to see it.

Medphys, my error on the grip. I was thinking forend. I thought the modified Max-31 looked nice and was just wondering which Max-11 forend you wanted, the molded or metal? Now I understand.

The DF is so sweet...I wish Richard would take a look at these some more. I realize he wants to sale 100% functioning uppers. But he sold me some mags and a bolt and I got it to work 100% in about 2 days, I have around 7000 rounds with NO problems.
It jammed on every shot when I got it, If it jammed on the left I bent the mag lips in a little at a time, jammed on the right did the same until it was 100% I don't know if these mag will work in another M-11 but they are great in mine. ( I used the edge of a wood bench to push the lip in, Very easy with no tool marks)

I also am trying out the quick disconnect stock adapter so I can quickly swap out the collapsible AR stock for the OEM wire stock for the 22 kit.

Got to test out all 10 converted Suomi mags today and had zero malfunctions even with several new shooters behind the trigger. This thing rocks... life is good. Now it's time to start on the reloading station and an M11/22 drum :D
