I have the 11K but was wondering the opinions on the 11K vs the Grey Ghost. Seems like two slightly different versions to get to the same place.

Maybe I'm missing some points on the Grey Ghost.

I have the adapter to run my CF bolt in the 11K but you don't need an adapter in the Grey Ghost. Plus the GG has the gas port cover. Is that about it?

Edit: I have the 11k not the 11sk.

What adapter do you need to run the CF bolt in the max11sk? I have the max11sk upper & CF bolt, it runs but not that great. Am I missing something? I always figured it was because of my Sten magwell conversion?

The GG upper is essentially a stock upper with some additional features added.

the sk doesnt use an adapter, thats only for the 11k which has an upper bolt weight

both have their advantages. There are two versions of the sk depending on if you like the lage grip or not. If you dont like the stock GG grip, then it is out.

the sk seems lighter and slicker to me

It's a great upper. Very light and well made. Foregrip is awesome. I like the shorter length.
Unfortunately, my m11/22 kit nor CF bolt run very well in the upper. I had hoped it would be the ultimate solution for both but didn't work out that way.

Again, my issues are probably Sten related. I have a love/hate relationship with my Sten conversion.

Oh nice catch. I have the 11k not the 11sk.

I must have missed the 11sk at some point as well. Maybe I need to sell my 11K and get on the list for the 11SK then and forego the GG upper. I've loved my 11K but if i can just swap bolts in that upper but keep the ergonomics and optics on the one upper (instead of swapping between factory and 11K as I have done).

the sk uses the upper section that would have been the bolt weight for a non reciprocating charging handle return spring mech since it cant ride the cf bolt

so the sk is still the same size as the k

also either the k or sk allow the use of light , laser rails if you wanted such. no such provision on the GG

I'd still buy a GG upper. I'd like to have a nifty upper for my m11/22 kit. I have an old stock upper that runs great but looks like shit.

I have 3 stock uppers, an sk upper & a USMG side cocker. .22 kit only fits in one stock upper. Cfw bolt only fits in the sk upper. Stock bolt runs in all of them. Go figure.

I'd probably buy a GG but in my experience with m11 accessories is that they cause more problems than they solve. If I had 3 aftermarket uppers only one thing would function in each upper.

I think you need to stick with the 11k. I think it’s better than the 11sk because you can run the Lage 11k bolt, CF bolt with adapter, or the stock bolt with adapter in it. The 11sk can only run your CF bolt and a stock bolt. I don’t own a CF bolt, but I’ve owned a 11sK. I sold the 11sK and bought a 11k. Since you already have a 11k, you’re good to go! No real advantage going from a 11k to a 11sK since you have the adapter in my opinion.

Is anyone still making the adapters to run CFW or stock bolts in a 11K? I'm on the 11SK waiting list and have a CFW bolt with no home. My intentions are to build a dedicated upper for suppressor use.

Check with VegasSMG. That’s where I got mine years ago.

A couple of days ago I shipped some Alamo adapters to Practical Solutions. USPS Tracking shows scheduled delivery tomorrow, (Saturday), so they should be available to purchase by Monday.

Green peas; Please don’t suffer in silence. Give me a call and let’s see if we can figure out what’s going on. Quite likely it’s the Sten mag conversion, but maybe not.

I own and shoot both the Ghost and SK upper and like them both.
All generation of CFW bolts have run perfectly in the SK just as they do in the Gray Ghost upper. My Lage .22 conversion has never been reliable in the SK upper, but it’s excellent with the Gray Ghost.

Whoa, i didn't even think about running the OEM bolt with the adapter in the 11K. I love running the factory bolt for a couple mags with people just for funsies and I always swap to the OEM upper to do that. Think I'll pick up another adapter just so I have one kicking around with the bolts and tuck the OEM upper away now.

Haven't had the mac out in a while...need to get he CF bolt running.

Yeah, I used to bring my stock bolt and adapter along for kicks. Now I just run the k with the 3 VBS’s in it. It’s not as fast as stock, but close enough for me.

Yeah I totally get that. I like to let guys shoot a mag or two through the oem bolt/upper speed and then throw a speed cube in and let them see just how fast it can go.

Man... I should try a few VBS buffers with the stock bolt. Sounds like fun!

I have never owned a gray ghost, but it's the best version of an OEM upper you can get, no question. the 11k is kind of like the new age aluminum version. It's longer, and for me I like moving my hand forward a little bit more, but both are awesome, and I do want a baby gray ghost.

This is Camaro vs Mustang.
