Bet it would be possible to shorten the receiver and barrel on a standard size one?

The steel mk1, yes. It would be more difficult to do it to the Al mk2 upper.

Want me to chop your mk1? ;)

The last I checked, they were half way there with only about 10 people on the list. I'm posting this in the hopes that more people will see it and get on the list. The Max-11k had tons of positive response, so they are making that one. Please everyone with an M11 or M11A1 - contact Lage at sales@max-11.com and get on the list so the Max-31k will become a reality. My happiness depends on it!

I'm number 12. Jackie says they need 20 to make a run. Come on, there has got to be 8 more people who want this!

Thanks!!

Someone in the first page of this thread is #16. I told Jackie that if they got to 19 and had no other takers, I would buy 2 so we really just need 3 more at this point!

I want my max31 mk1 chopped bad. I like the legacy uppers better because they are made from steel. I love strobro32's chopper.

Here's my 31A Mk I shorty. A saw and file and a bit of measuring is all it took. US Machine-gun had a 9mm mac barrel for sale with 1/2x28 threads a few months ago for around $100 that was already cut back to the flange. That+60 minutes of your time and you're there.

That said, I'm going to have to get one of these when gun funds allow. Jackie is on my phone's contact list (I can stop anytime I want to, honest).

That's awesome. Really.

Personally, I like the look of the mk1 "k" uppers over the mk2.

So you just cut the front part off at the trunion and cut the grip to match? I will try this when I am 100% I wont screw it up. I know I can come here if i have any questions.

Cocked&Locked, I cut about 1.8" from the forward extension of the top rail, leaving just enough for the grip to index on. Cut the grip with a fine blade on a chop saw after making sure it was shimmed level. I had a spare lage barrel cut and threaded but the USMG used one is definitely cheaper if still available.

The only draw back is that it is awkward to reach around a drum without a vertical grip. I like coffins anyway so not a big issue.
