I have max11a1 with 250 rounds threw it. so few cuz I was having mag problems and where i live and where the gun is kept. just when I get mags that work the Max31a came in,lol so what should I do keep it or sell it?
I know its a personal thing I just not sure keeping it is right or selling it,lol

you guys that have both do you even use your max11 after getting your 31?
I have not shot the 31A yet as my drums just got here but when the mags worked the max11 with stock sights was awsome. I can only imagine the 31a with a eotech has to be even better?

Is it a 9mm or .380 max11a1? What mags are you using? I could never get my zytels to work quite well enough to satisfy me in the stock m11a1. Haven't tried a max11a1 though. My Max31a runs well enough...

I'll buy the MAX31A if you decide not to keep it.

I'm currently on the 31A wait list so I won't pay a premium, but i will pay a fair price. I already own a MAX31 with plenty of coffin mags and drums so I'm content to wait a little while longer.

If you don't need the money I'd keep the Max-11/A1. The only reason I sold mine was to get accessories for my suomi uppers and the upcoming S.A.B.R.E. upper before any potential upcoming ban put high cap mags out of my reach. My Max-11/A1 in .380 was awesome; smooth operating, light weight/compact (relative to the other slow-fire uppers), and accurate/controllable. The only downside to the setup I had was that I was not set up to reload .380acp which made ammo pricey. I'd have kept it if I could, but my financial priorities have been drawn up and it just fell short of the list. If your choice happens to be between one or the other though I'd favor either a Lage or Alliance suomi upper.

If you do sell it ask at least retail, assuming it's in good condition. Mine sold in just a few hours on Gunbroker for $800 with the "Buy it Now" option.

I would compare the two and see which you like better. I have the Max11a1 and am on the list for the Max31a1, and I will make the same decision. I may keep them both as the Suomi stick mags are hard to come by. They would sell fast second hand as already mentioned.

380 I have stamped mags that work and some generic that need tweaking. I just got the FTF mags when the 31A1 came in and they worked also.
mag problem is fixed althought still expensive at 70$ each.

Variety is the spice of life. So I would keep it. Even if only once or twice a year to change it up. Plus what if Lage made a Max 11/22a you would really wish you still had that upper. Not saying he is, but who knows.

I would contact Richard and find out if it is able to be modified to 9mm. It's probably just a bolt assembly, barrel, and trunion modification.

I thought the pam2 mags worked in the m11a1's without mods to the weapon?

If he has a small magwell M11A1 rather than a SWD Zytel magwell M11A1 then he's stuck with .380 for the Max11A... can't run the 9mm Max11 per Richard.

Yeah, most of us automatically think SWD, Zytel size mag wells when we see or hear M11A1.
I think RocketW19's gun is a converted RPB semi auto?

RPB changed their late production .380 gun's designation to M11A1 so the OP may own a RPB or an early SWD gun. SWD's very early production of the M11A1 also utilized the same small RPB/PS magwells and these guns used the same pricey metal mags. Later in production, SWD switched to the same size magwell as the M11/9. Only these SWD produced guns can run 9mm ammo with the MAX11A upper.

*I currently own a MAX-31 and I'm on the list for a MAX31A, so I'll be keeping my coffin mags.

I know, I used to be the same way. It would be nice if "M11A1" or even "SWD M11A1" only meant one configuration and we didn't have to differentiate further!

can someone give me some good options for a more substantial stock on my max11a1? i have the lage side folder and it is ok, but is their something out there bigger? something i can attach without too much modification? not really worried about losing side folding capability, but i could use the same attachment piece. thanks for any input

All of these stock variations should work. I liked the AKFX 7.5" stock with my MAX-11/A1.

I also like the AKFX stocks -- a lot. I use the 9.5" on the M11A1 and Max-11/A1, and the 7.5" stock on the M11/9 and Max-31. Since the M11/9 receiver is about 2" longer to the rear of the grip, I have the same length of pull on both platforms.

The 9.5" AKFX plus the folder assembly puts you at 10". That extra inch may be all you're going to get. I'm 6ft with normal arms for that height and that length works great.
