Mirco Uzi Carbine Build

Looked at some pics of a Uzi Pistol and Mirco Uzi.
http://files.uzitalk.com/reference/pages/pistolref.htm

It does seem buildable from the outside, how about the internals? Basiclly I know it uses a a different trunion, top cover, etc...... But basic operational fuction is the same as any other Uzi and share the bolt striker with the Mini Uzi..

I dont have a example to view or disect. Nor is an Assult Pistol allowed in my State so, a Carbine with a long barrel will need to be added. [ (fake suppresor) would like some info on these too]

If anyone has a Pistol or Micro who is willing to take a few pics or drawing and measurments.

I'll study the concept of building it from a repair channel and make some trunions for it. Vector has the stock . 9mm Mini uzi barrel and bolt from CDNN can be mod. and a FS parts kit can be bashed for parts. even the slant lower can be mod from a reg. SMG lower with a few welds.

Im sure it wont be authentic but a very close clone for some build fun.:bang It will take awhile for this project to fly, but do beleive I can do it.

One thing to keep in mind is that the receiver on the UZI Pistol/Micro is made of thinner steel than the full size and Mini. It might give you some dimensional problems if you try to match different kinds of pieces.

I'll keep that in mind, but may still need to work with the .075 reciever walls of the regular sized uzi. It will just have a rough very close outside look of the Micro. If i can get some rear sights and other genuine Mirco parts at a good price.

Now a Mirco has no Fore Grip, that means one less 922r compliance part to a total of 14.

Import parts of 10:
Barrel
Bolt
Mag (3)
Trigger
Trigger group
Sear
Stock
Striker

I cant make a Assult Pistol in my State, so it has to be a Carbine Rifle 18" with stock thus the Mirco configuration, not the Pistol.

922r should apply since its non sporting, but is resticted from improtation since non where ever made (rifle).

Ive been pondering all day how to design and mill a trunion for this puppy. and grafting some sort of sight post, both fore and aft... other than that it should be a peice of PIE.

The stock will be the most expensive item from Vector. $250 wow
and a regular SMG lower. Will be sharing the same internals with my Mini Uzi so to save a little money.

Wanted to try and do a glock pistol grip , but may not work because it is a S/N plastic receiver. a 80% sig 226 may work :dunno

However using a standard semi feed ramp will work fine , even if its not in the original design..

I have given the Glock / Sig grip issue a good thought. Although it is a possiblity i will not do it for the time being. The main focus now will be the sight post ears. I was thinking on useing a FS SMG rear, and trim to shape..then welded on.
The front trunion will also need to be addressed.

Trouble posting pic of a Micro Pistol

I tried to post a pic of a Micro Pistol and I could not get it to paste.I have a few gun pics on computer and i also tried a pic of a valmet, sometimes it does and doesn't. Just bought a new Dell Optiplex SX280 Desktop is only 10by9.8by3in. and it snaps onto a carry handle on one side a the 17in. Flatscreen monitor snaps onto the other. A neat little package with a 3yr warranty. I can then get rid of this old 98 optiplex that locks up alot and halfway works. It was ordered Monday the 29th of Aug. 2005. I'll still post pic if you dont have by then.

Doesnt the Micro have a pointy trigger guard on it?
Uzi Pistols had a Trianglar plastic grip with round trigger guard
Wereas the Micro had the Regular grips with pointed trigger guard.
It will be a clone so im not too worried about authenticity.

Actually they came both ways.
The LATER model UZI Pistols also had the "pointed" trigger guards also.
Conversly, the early MICRO's had rounded trigger guards also.

My UZI Pistol has the later Micro Trigger Gaurd

When I said that I would post a pic of the trigger gaurd it is from one of the later Uzi Pistols that came with the Micro trigger gaurd.

Angelo, welcome to UZI Talk. Did you start with a full size UZI receiver to build that from?

It looks (reciever) orignal. maybe a super early pro to-type.
