Any surplus military firearm guys in here that would recognize a possible foreign proof mark?? I secured a 9mm RPB era upper receiver, M10A1 style with the wider charging handle slot and “SAFE SAFE FIRE” markings on top of the upper.

Upon closer examination of the upper I discovered it has some kind of proofs on it that I’ve never seen on any other Ingram gun or part. It looks like a Swiss cross or plus sign and a capital “G”, the front of the trunnion also bears the cross.

It is possible that this gun may have been marked by a foreign government. Does anyone recognize those proof marks?

The upper and both barrels that came along with it are all RPB era, 78-82, with this stuff being more likely early 80s later RPB… I bought the lot because I wanted that elusive 10” 9mm M10 barrel. The auction did not have pics of the opposite side of the upper so I did not know those proofs were there till it arrived, it was a cool surprise.

Well its pretty close to a Swiss army knife.....Simple and functional...I have many.....they stay sharp forever if you get a real one vs a china knock off.

Some outfit in Brittain was doing Macs at one point.......I followed that rabbit hole and got nowhere on marks.

I was wondering if this could be a British mac thing also, but I don’t believe those section 5 guns used these RPB uppers with the “safe safe fire” markings on top. I think they were also mostly all painted in a black enamel but I am not positive. There is a good new video on YouTube about those British SF guns that was shared here recently, basically every gun displayed in the video is an illegally manufactured reactivated demill or blank firing gun. Figures… even the museum in England can barely get their hands on a legitimate firearm that wasn’t made in someone’s garage. They are like Luty meets the Ingram.

I was going to suggest the Symbionese Liberation Army, but apparently their logo was a seven-headed snake thingie.
Interesting suggestion, though I doubt they had a legit gunsmith or machine shop marking their parts with unique proof marks. They were using chopped up full auto converted M1 carbines I believe, doesn’t mean they didn’t have different guns on hand, but they are certainly well known for those Patty Hearst signature M1s.
