I've got this mini that I bought and it simply will not feed rounds.

I get rounds that jam into the feed ramp, and rounds that point straight up and down.

I changed the grip frame thinking it would help, have several here, because it seemed like the mag was too low maybe. But that didn't do anything.

If I press up on the mag I get slightly better results but never more than a couple in a row feed correctly.

I tried another bolt too, no luck.

Is there a way to set the height on the mags? Maybe bend the tab upward slightly on the mag catch to hold the mag up higher?

I did wind up bending the mag catch upward slightly to pull the mag up as tight as possible. This helped but still only fed 10 or 12 rounds then started to jam again.

Yeah I should have mentioned that. But I tried 5 mags, all same issue. The bolt really wants to override the rounds.

In your first and second photos the rear of the cartridge is down instead of against the feed lip. Instead of hitting the rear of the case and shoving it into the chamber the bolt overrides it and hits the side of the case further up.

Looks like the cartridge is hitting the underside of the ejector, does it only fail to feed from the left side of the mag?

This video talks about both top cover issues and rounds hitting the ejector. Feed issues aren’t the first problem that comes to mind from a loose top cover, but the fact that you were able to improve feeding by pushing up on the mag makes me wonder if it has to do with how much vertical play the bolt has. Usually a loose top cover is more associated with the gun running away on you.

That looks like a full auto closed bolt. I presume this is a post sample or RR gun? If so, have you tried running it with an open bolt?

Yes they do touch the ejector. No it fails from both sides

CB FA yes. But also happens with the original CB Semi.
I would assume the same would happen with Closed bolt semi.
However, still curious if it happens with open bolt as I don't shoot my Mini in closed bolt much. I have seen it have those malfunctions but I don't shoot it enough to really care. I've been meaning to run my Mini in closed bolt again to document the cyclic rates again though.

I can throw an open bolt sear in it and see what happens

I was just thinking that if it works fine w/ an open bolt then you can probably rule out any issues with the topcover, barrel, feed ramp, feed height, lower etc...

That's good thinking. So I'm wondering if the reciever itself might be out of spec. It's got somewhat of a twist to the receiver when looking at it from the back. At first I figured it was just a vector and thats that, but now I'm wondering if it's actually bent!

Interesting I just replaced the recoil spring assembly with one that is about .5 inches shorter on the firing pin side and it seems to work much better. 2 full mags and one missfeed

One of my buddies had a Mini that was bent really bad. Like a banana. Sent it back to Vector I think 3 times back when Ralph and Rex were there. Ralph ended up graciously swapping his personal Mini for my friends.
