Just a quick question. Why is it that the Mini Uzi guns are SOOO much more expensive than the Carbines? Whether SA or FA the price is crazy for the IMI models. Anyone know where I can get a nice SA (IMI) for under $1100?

Thanks for the help.

ever thought of building one?

it might run a little over your $1100 mark to get it all built up and stuff but i think you will still fall under the +/-$2200 mark that some of the NIB mini carbines have been going for lately...
you need to ask yourself if you honestly need the original box, paperwork and accessories that came with it.

your next step would be posting a want ad here and any other place you can for one. Remember, sometimes the boards that have nothing to do with uzis can net the best results.
also do some actual legwork and hit as many gun shows as you can, talk to vendors that may have knowledge of the whereabouts of some. go to gun shops and see if you can put up want ads there.

i have faith that you will find one, but i dont know if an actual IMI mini is going to be found for anywhere near $1100. id start donating plasma :D

you may be able to find a vector mini for around $1100 to $1300. The older vector IMI receiver guns generally run very well, better than some of the vector fullsize uzis. The newer vector Group Industries receivers started as fullsize receivers and were cut down to mini size. They have some alignment issues occasionally. However, vector has a good warranty.

I'd recommend getting a pocket full of cash and keep an eye open wherever you go for one. I was walking through a local gun show where military/ LE stuff is a rare sight when I spotted an Uzi. A few minutes later I walked out with a like new Pistol and several mags for $750. A few months later I missed another one that sold for $500 by about an hour.

I agree with shadeone, non Uzi places are where you find killer deals. And, if you aren't all ate up with originality, my Vector Mini runs 100%.

i was luckly enough to score one of the vector mini pistols built on an IMI receiver (first one that vector ever made actually!) before they ran out and started using group industries receivers and german DES lowers... IMI receiver with Vector quality and warranty... best of both worlds :)

seriously though, if you arent hung up on being a purist, you could use the extra money you would save by getting a vector mini, SBR that sum'bitch, aaaaaand have some money for a ton of mags left over!

I am a purist myself though. I like the fact that my gun (well, just its receiver) actually came from the uzi holy land of israel! ha! Of course I have an OCD collector mindset with this and every other hobby I have...

sweeet ass group industries SBR min...ar15.com/forums/topic.html?b=7&f=118&t=812358

The only problem, (small one), is that it already marked with his info. Marked sbr's are tough to sell, unless the marked info says: "T. Dyer" on it.

I was looking at mini uzi tonight myself. $800.00 looks like a very good deal on that. I email a manufacturer about buying a mini uzi receiver shell tonight also. I post the answer here when I get it. I have been a home builder for about ten years now and I have built the full size and I liked it alot, they take alot patience but the results are well worth it.

Alright, so in order to save time, I'm going to attempt to answer everyone's questions in one message.

Well, to tell you the truth, I am a bit of a purist. I do want the ORIGINAL IMI Mini but it doesn't look like I'm going to be able to find one in my current price range. I'll probably end up just holding off until I get the rest of the money for it. Funds are a bit tight right now. My Fiancee is Vietnamese and has a large family and at the start of next month The Chinese (Vietnamese also) New Years starts so I'm going to be out about $800 just paying for gifts since it's tradition to give everyone who's younger than you money in the family. Plus, I'm still recovering from Christmas expenses and and all of my siblings birthdays are at the beginning of year!!! So really $1100 is all I can Afford at this time but hopefully in a few months I'll be able to save a bit more.

The gun that was on the link does look like a grand deal however, like I stated above, I'm looking for an authentic IMI and also I haven't filled out any of the forms for a SBR yet. And to answer the last question (actually one of the first ones listed) I don't intend on building my own yet but hopefully after I own one for a while I can start on my own projects. :)

Thank you to everyone that posted, and feel free to keep posting on this thread with any new info. I'll be going to my local gun shows to see if I can get any deals.

I received emails from two different Uzi parts dealers and was directed to McKay enterprises. I emailed them for prices but I don't expect to hear back from them this weekend. Their receivers look very good and I will probally get theirs if the price isn't to high, has anyone here had any experience with them?

they havent officially announced a mini uzi receiver as of yet i dont think... that one in the picture on their home page might look like a mini because its shrunk horizontally... as soon as they make a mini receiver, ill be the first on the list for one though!

I got a e-mail from McKay Enterprise to saying that they only make the full size uzi receiver and that thay are what is used by Spud Nodak. I have tried vey hard to find a mini uzi receiver and now I know what most of you guys have known . The only ones are the IMI and the Vectors which only come with complete weapons. Oh well.

Heh funny you should ask that. My laptop screen actually just went out and it's going to cost me about $450 to get it repaired but instead I think I'm just going to buy a new one...sooo...It looks like my luck has convenitently ran out again. Hopefully I can work some extra hours though. We'll see, but I appreciate the look out. Keep me updated.
