Starting to anticipate necessity and give thought to modifying steel mags to be 10 rounders.

Seeking advice for effective, cost-efficient strategies that can be recommended for bending the metal on the cut end of the magazine body to create new floor plate lips without damaging the magazine body or having end product look hacked.

Assuming a vice block is fabricated and used to protect and stabilize the magazine body, any reason to not attempt it using a handheld sheet metal brake or handheld locking sheet metal crescent clamp?

I modified a Sten mag for 10 awhile back, just peened the cut bottom outward with a rock hammer and filed, got the floor plate to fit very well.

You sure you want to modify the body? I would just tac a piece of bar stock to the floor plate to limit the capacity

You can also instal a rivet on the side of the mag body, drill it out later if desired.

That depends. If laws arise forcing permanence in that solution (e.g., floor plate needing to be permanently welded), I would probably opt for trying to shorten some so they can still be disassembled and cleaned with relative ease. That is assuming I can accomplish doing it with the end product looking professional.

You live in Florida. Why bother going through this excercise?

I’m making the assumption your making a smaller mag out of a bigger one
