Just do me this one favor when you shoot the gun-DUMP THE MAGAZINE WITH ONE PULL OF THE TRIGGER! Your paying a too much money to try to pull singles/doubles-get the full effect of the gun.I'm going to the OFAST machinegun shoot in Oklahoma this weekend, I have never fired a real full auto machinegun before, what guns are really fun that I should shoot while there?
I hated the MP5, everything is fricking backwards. I have shot much more fun, cheaper guns. Sterlings are a blast, I couldn't shoot one at the last MG shoot I went to, but I am getting one built. If they have something in 7.62X54 belt fed, buy a tin an just blow through it, it is the cheapest fun you can have on a belt fed. My favorite to shoot, out of all guns, is a full auto AK47. It is controllable enough to get 3 shot bursts on target at 50 yards in full auto mode (I am sure I could get more with more time behind the gun). M16's are fun, but not AK47 fun, I actually found the AC556 more fun (and just bought one) I am actually opposite of the guys that say just do a mag dump, I LOVE taking on multiple targets in short bursts, or even the same target, trying to repeat the group a couple of times. AK sights become very easy to use when you know 3 or more shots are coming out when you pull the trigger. It was nice to have a variety of targets set up, with the ability to shoot cars, metal targets, interactive targets, etc. The paper set up was useless after about 10 minutes of a 6 hours shooting period, and the RJ guys love to blow shit up, so that eats into shooting time. If there is an option to shoot a cannon, shoot IT. IT IS AWESOME to shoot a 6 lb (35,000g) projectile through a Minivan 300 yards away with a cannon!
:thinking
id first go with something MAC Platform, than Uzi, than MP5 than M16 than ak-47 to start with. than go find some of the other odities the the FN P90, scorpion, GE Mini, m60.....
My 1st full-auto was an FAL, (which the owners called an SLR) and that was the only option at that time ;-), however, assuming you're familiar with firearms generally, a MAC or an UZI makes sense. Just remember to lean into it because the push back will surprise you the 1st time.
BTW, 6lb = 2,721.55 grams or 42,000 grains.
With a handle like Ingram MAC 10, I'd think your choice would be easy. Shoot your dream gun whatever that is.
As a rental, I'm thinking the artillery piece will *easily* be over a hindered bucks per shot.
