How exactly can one check to identify a RR gun from a RS gun?

Only real way is to look at the paperwork. There were some sear guns that were registered as registered receivers. As a result you have a sear that is permanently married to the receiver. A double push pin receiver without the semi auto self is by definition a machine gun so it would have to be a registered receiver. It would be nice if it was cut and dry, but some of the conversions done back in the day were papered wrong and you can't correct them now.

Reads machine gun on the paperwork but I have read that Fleming did both.

What’s the serial number? Does it match the receiver serial?

Is the serial engraved on the sear?

I believe the swing down lower be the give away.

Many RR guns still have a shelf (no PPins holes + swing-down lower), so that is not 100%. If it has a swing-down lower, then it likely a RR (I have heard of swing-downs with sears, too! yes, basically 2MGs - perm married)
Only way to tell is the paperwork...

Has one rear pin and when removed you pull to the rear and slide the trigger pak off.

OK, it is a gun with a semi-shelf: Could be a RR MG or could be sear gun.
No way to tell without looking at the paperwork..

If the sear does NOT have a serial number, you can automatically rule out it being the registered part.

The form 4 could say machine gun but the registered part could be something else. Ive seen plenty of M1/2 carbines like this (operating rod or trigger housing stamped with manufacturing and serial number) If the form 4 serial number matches the receiver serial number than that's a registered receiver and not another part.
Obviously, if the receiver takes a permanent modification that ATF says is No No then the sear could be (so called) married to that receiver.

I would suggest looking at BOX H on the form 4 it might shed some light on it.

I know everyone wants to ask obscure questions so no one else gets the jump on them with an item for sale but posting a pic of the paperwork would go a long way to letting people help you figure this out, bonus points for a pic of the gun's serial to compare to paperwork.
