I did this SBR Project with a Ruger GB I picked up some time ago and finally got a Form 1 approved and went to town.

I threaded it 1/2x28 using a newer Ruger flash hider as that thread pitch has more options.

I found this option. A Choate M14 style flashider that you can blind pin.

This is a non-SBR at 16.5 inches. This is what I’m planning. I bought a blued flash hider and it also means I don’t need a new SBR sightblock. All around this is cheaper. $65 shipped, and no stamp.

That loos great. I had mine as a non-SBR and then just had to do it as I was always yearning for an exact clone. It was either I spend the $200 tax or go and spend $10K on the real full auto.

That stainless one looks great - I would like to know where those longer flash hiders with sight blocks are for sale (if a stash is somewhere) and have one on hand for future projects. I believe they are out of production. Its a nice option and non-NFA.

non-nfa is always good. It's the main reason why I stopped sbr'ing stuff. There just is little market for it.

The form 4 auto however, continues to increase in price.

Looks great.

I've been planing on SBRing one of my mini 14 folders to make an ac556f clone; Unfortunately, I cant find a real front gas block sight.

IMO, SBRing one of these is the only way to go. The other options look like crap.

Side note: you could have sold your GB barrel and PROLLY had enough to get another used mini 14 barrel and have enough left over to cut and thread the barrel.
