Well...I like it, thinking about putting on a Magpul ACS stock but trying to decide if I want to keep it or sell it and put the money towards another rifle.

Let me get this straight. You just received the gun (Form 4 approval or Form 1 approval to make or are you a dealer?) and now you are thinking about selling it? Why?

I think the gun looks good. The one thing I would do is pull the gas block you don't need and install a carbine length YHM rail. You could just pull the pistol length rail off, leave the barrel nut installed and just install the carbine rail from the new kit. That would give you a longer sight radius. With the removal of the non functional gas block, that would even out the extra weight of the increased length rail. Congratulations on the 9mm SBR.

That's a good idea!

I had the sbr Colt lower for a bit but never used it. Yeah I'm not sure what I want to do. I have some other rifles in mind and selling this was just a thought. It's all new and I have not shot it yet either. That may help me decide. Thanks for the advice!

Is it a Colt factory SBR or did you or a manufacturer file the form? By the two roll pins for the magwell adapter and the size of the fire control pins, I'm guessing that is a late model lower?

SBRs and Cans are so difficult to resell. Unless you can find someone in your state, the double stamp can be a deal breaker. If you want to take the hit for the extra stamp. But who wants to loose an extra $400 ($200 you paid originally and $200 to ship out of state).

I have an idea for the extra YHM pistol FF rail. TROS http://www.trosusa.com/ makes a five inch 3-lug M16/9 barrel. With that little pistol rail, you would only have a can or a HK flash hider sticking out. I had one. The barrel shot great. A 5" barrel will keep most all of the 147 gr ammo subsonic. I've had 9" or 10" barrels that the 147 gr 9mm would go supersonic. That kind of defeats the purpose of the can, IMHO. I made a local deal on the complete upper with a Gemtech Raptor can, when I was hard up for some cash. I had bought the can local, and sold it local, plus the money I got for the upper (I found the parts over time at good prices and sold for the extra $200 I had in the stamp). Unless you do the same thing, it will hurt to sell your SBR 9mm Colt.

Yeah it's on a form 1 and your right it's a late model 6450 lower. I had an MK9K but sold it some time ago. I used it on one of my MP5's for a spell. I picked up and SD and a K model HK and sold the can shortly after. Kind of wish I still had it. It was big but it was a cool sounding can!

I'm really trying to move out of all NFA stuff at this point. Just too much money and time as well as ammo for FA stuff and also harder to sell like you said. I normally would shoot FA only about 10% of my shooting time. Ammo is not where it used to be price wise so I'm not missing blazing away my ammo anymore either. Cans are still cool though but I think I'm about done with the whole NFA thing.

I think it's been about 3 months now since the ATF had my tranfer that I sold my UMP conversion shipping to an out of state class 3 dealer, and still have not got the transfer back yet (that's going to a dealer). Poor customer is going to have to go through the wait all over again! ATF branch is backed up what they are telling me.

So.... I doubt I will go out and buy another can. Although I have thought about it. I'm more interested in doing long range shooting now and looking at some gear for that. I do like these little PDW's too they are neat, I'll check in to some of the rails if I hang on to it.

THE set up for 9mm SBR's are more along the lines of what Class3Weapons sells: 5" TROS barrel, POF Predator Rail and Gemtech Multi-Mount can. You get some space between those sights...and with the can tucked into that rail...it's SBR heaven. I'm just sayin'...

I have been out of the suppressor market for a spell, what is the best (quietest) 9mm can on the market these days? Gemtech...? That does sound like a nice setup you mentioned.

I'm not sure if my 7" barrel would still keep standard 9mm supersonic or drop it to subsonic. I need to check in to that...Can on this would be nice!

Your not the only one that builds a 9mm AR15 around here. :) Miss my thread?

Your gun looks good. But as was said, why would you spend the time doing that only to try to sell it ? Your not going to make money on it, so it's kinda a waste of your time to go through all that, only to not want it anymore.

Well, I'm on the fence about selling it or not. Now leaning more on keeping it, it is a handy little booger! I go through many firearms projects, I buy them/build them sell them and in many cases rebuy them back again (that sound familiar?). I've owned most of everything evil at some point aside from an M60 or a mini gun. Right or wrong it's just how I do the gun thing. Unlike many enthusiasts I never become attached to a weapon that I could not part with if I have my sights on the next cool toy I can't afford.

Very nice rig in the thread btw!

Fair enough! Personally, I don't sell guns, I only buy 'em. :)

My 9mm AR15 will never ever EVER be sold. Well, maybe when I'm 90 and cant shoot.
