My Wal-Mart Went up on 9mm !!!

Hey, I knew it was comming but I was shocked.
I went to purchase my normal 1000 rnds of white box and noticed that the 100rnd boxes went from $15.72 too $18.21!!!!! :eyespop

Did I miss something? I looked around and noticed that all the prices went up and I expected maybe a $1.00 per box (like all the other calibers) but I about went into shock.

Are you guy's seeing this? Do you think its a mistake? I thought about writing a letter to their Corp. Offices in Bentonville, Arkansas but, I imagine my complaint will fall on deaf ears.

Yeah I know this is beating a three legged dog, but I thought it was really unfare that they went up that much on this single caliber where everything else took modest increases.

What are you seeing? Is $18.21 the new white box 100ct price?

I spent my money back when there was a rummor of this happening... I think that was about 6-months ago. I have not stopped by the ammo desk to price in a while so I might need to look...

I just wish my local Wal-Mart still had the 147-gr FMJs WWB. They used to sell it but it has been a long time now...

I bet if I look, I still have boxes at home that were priced $9.00 or so... and that was no more then 2-years ago! Darn, I wish I had put my money into ammo as I could have outperformed my 401k if I had more to sell now!

Yep, 18.21 sounds right. One thing that I have learned is that not every Walmart has the same price. Most do. Not every walmart raises their prices at the same time.

I found at least one in Texas that still has it at 13.16 (no typo, that is 13.16) per 100 pack. I was in there Friday 02/22. Three cases, 427 out the door.

I posted elsewhere about this rare time warped wally world. Drop me an line and I'll tell you which one.

Mine in Indiana is up to 18+ I still by 3-4 boxes everytime that I am in there... It adds up. The hike came in that last two weeks.

I thought that I had posted this earlier, but can't find it anywhere.

Anyway, I figured that I'd post my source in case anyone can use it.

Today is 03/27/2008. I have confirmed purchases of WWB 100 round packs at the WalMart in Wichita Falls, Texas at 13.16 per pack. That is NOT a typo. One-three-point-one-six dollars per 100 pack.

Not every WalMart has the identical prices on every item, as strange as that may sound. I found this price at this WalMart about 6 months ago. I checked it out again last month when the WWB went over 18 bucks a box and they still had it for 13.16. I checked again yesterday and it was STILL 13.16 a box.

This comes out to about $142/1000 rounds out the door.

The Walmart is located in Wichita Falls, Texas. I don't know the street address, but it is the only one next to a Sams. It is across the street from Academy Sports so if you can find that, you can find this WalMart.

If there are any nay sayers out there, I will be more than happy to post either reciept. The one from Feb '08 or yesterday (03/26/08).

Hope this will help someone out there.

all the prices went up...the Federal .22 550 bulk went from 9.98 or so up to 11.98...big friggin jump.
I'm glad I bought cases of the bulk packs when they were cheap!
It's nothing to go through a 550 pack on a nice weekend.
