Well I finally got one. Now in search for spare parts...I really need a folding stock! Anybody know the best place to get a sear and have the conversion done? Thanks!
As stated above, Vulcan would be the place to go to find a factory folding stock w/ locking mechanism.
Curtis over at S&H is still considered "the man" when it comes to conversions, since his company made all the sears. You'll need to supply your own sear and be prepared to wait for several months for completion (he does them in batches). Gunbroker and sturmgewehr usually have some sears for sale.
Also, Todd over at TBA has been doing conversions for a while and can sell you the sear he installs. Some folks will tell you to "only have Curtis do your conversion", because he is known to do good work and created the sears, but really it's up to you. I did my own conversion using real FA parts and a S&H sear I reshaped. While it was a bit of a pain to do, it runs as well as any S&H conversion I've ever handled (and I've worked on quite a few). http://uzitalk.com/forums/showthread.php?t=59749 http://www.tbasuppressors.com/machine-guns-for-sale/fn-fnc-conversion-sear
Post a WTB for the sear on sturmgewehr.com and see what turns up. I saw one on there about 3 weeks ago for $2600. There was also a folding stock on gunbroker.com last week
I've got a bunch of FNC/AR CAR adapters for sale.
$45 each plus $5.50 shipping

If you want the "purist look" get a factory folder. If you want a stock that you can actually use and get a good cheek weld on, I suggest any number of good AR-15 after market stocks and an adaptor. I put a Magpul UBR on my factory folder and could not be happier. The folder was just a bugger to open and it did nothing to help me get on target. The only advantage I see to a folder is that it makes the overall length of the rifle shorter by quite a bit.
Not my rifle, but that is what it looks like. I run an Aimpoint M4 with a 3x magnifier on a Stormwerkz rail on my FNC. I also use Josh's FNC AR-15 stock adapter to get the UBR installed. I don't like the folder, but I don't plan on selling it as it is a factory FNC part and can be put back on to make the rifle "all factory original".
I scored an Aimpoint CS:thumbs_up Now its begging to be an AK5 clone! Since parts are impossible to find, I'm going to go fly up to one of our neighboring nato camps here in Kosovo where the swedes hang out
