We came out with some grip plugs! Grip plugs for the 5.56/ .223 Uppers and Drum Uppers are ready to go! We have 3 different options. A plug, a storage plug and an IRM latch plug. We will put out a video on how the IRM latch plug works too.

In addition to that, we have some new products coming soon!
- Legacy Foregrips for the MAX-11, MAX-10 and MAX-31
- Gen 1 Clamp On K-Grips (For those of you who miss the original design!)
- Magazine Loaders for the M-11/9, M-11/22, M-10/45 and M-11A1 Small Magwell and M-12
- UMP Magazine Extensions for .45 ACP and 9mm

I got the chance to play with some of these toys last weekend. I really like the IRM Latch Grip Plug for the small grip M11/30. I was hesitant to use a spare metal mags from the beginning because I did not want to bend the expensive mag feed lips. I have been using a stick of wood to push the latch in the sear plate hole. The Lage MFG IRL grip plug was more convenient.

I've always enjoyed the OEM small metal grip for the 380 SMG and my 22LR upper but the larger Lage MFG grip cover is better for the 5.56 upper. My grip and pinky are now comfortable.

I'll be getting one of the grip plugs but I'll kind of miss that occasional fireball shooting out of the pistol grip. Looks impressive on video.

I like the idea of the storage grip plug, but wondering if an additional cap could be made to function like the irm version. That way it served both purposes? Just an idea…

The IRM version stays in the gun while you are shooting. There is a push button in the bottom that you depress when you have bolt carrier lined up for latching. When you pull back and release the bolt, the IRM latch unlatches and keeps the button out of the way. We will have a video up in a couple of days showing its operation.

No room for storage in the IRM Grip Plug due to the button/rod that runs through the center, top to bottom. If I made a cap with peg on top to push the IRM Latch in place, you would have to remove it from the gun to unlatch it.

Jackie, what if the plug itself acted as the rod? So if the storage area was held by the mag catch such that the protrusion at the top did not interfere with function. When the operator wanted to latch the IRM, they released the mag catch but pushed up the plug to get the protrusion on top latch the IRM. The plug would stick out of the bottom a little more, but that would leave the center of the plug open for storage. Just a thought.

What about a 2 sided cap? One side would be smooth on the top, the other side would have the raised part that pushes on the irm. Users would have the smooth top in while shooting and most of the time. If they wanted to take the upper off, they would remove the plug, flip the cap over, and re-install. Just an idea.

True, that would work. We'll have to see how these sell and then we can look into more variants!

Just an update about new products, we have the MAX-10 and MAX-11 Foregrips ready to go. These are for the Legacy Uppers. MAX-31 are next. The New Products page has been updated to find them easily!

We refer to the original steel uppers with the polymer fore grips as Mk1's or legacy uppers. The polymer fore grips on the MAX-11 and MAX-10 had a tendency to break if the customer was not careful in how they removed it. An out of battery detonation could cause a MAX-31 foregrip to crack. We ran out of stock many years ago, but occasionally had requests for replacements. Yes, it is a new polymer material.

I got my IRM plugs today.

The both fit the magwells perfectly.

The one for my M10/45 works exactly as it should.

The one for my M11A1 doesn’t work at all (it will not engage the “takedown” hook into the bolt).

I’ll give Jackie a call come Monday as I believe the takedown hook for the bolt in my MAX11A1/15 is somewhat out of spec.
