I want to thank everybody that said they would spend $3000 for the upper. You got your wish.

AAC....its Cerakoted....i posted it a long time ago...they repainted it for me...now i just shoot it and let it rest...30 rounds and its too hot to touch...its burned my bench still, but i havent burned the paint off again...

if you look it up you will see its not an unusual issue with their suppressors...

something guys whom this will be their first rifle caliber machine gun need to think about...this isnt a 9mm......that suppressor heats up VERY fast....and you need an adjustable gas block to keep the RPM's down......not sure if the Lage upper will have issues if you speed it up 150-200 rpm with a suppressor?? for an m16 its not good for it....easiest way to adjust it is to see where the brass is ejecting on a m16

It costs $$$ to make a quality product- my wish is a rifle caliber upper, it’ll cost what it costs. Don’t blame other people- I don’t think Lage has a spreadsheet where he puts in the prices people suggested and then sorts it to get the highest price “yep 3,000 that’s it!” if you can’t take the heat, consider bee keeping. Honey is good.

Would love to see a 7.62x39 version too...one that uses AK mags. I'm definitely buying one when my number comes up. #76 can't come soon enough!!

How do you know it’s gonna be $3000? I didn’t see any pricing anywhere.

On their Facebook post they indicated the $3,000 price tag.

That sucks, I'm out. Maybe get one on the used market someday. I'm sure it's an amazing upper but I just can't afford that.

EDIT: I could always sell my motorcycle :D

$3,000 is too cheap!

My god, Lage has 690 people on the list. He should be charging MORE for this upper with that kind of demand. Lage Mfg. does not exist to provide awesome uppers to Mac junkies...they exist (like every other business at its core) entirely to make as much money with the least amount of work.

Its supply and demand. If you think it is too much, then:
1. Don't buy it
2. But it from some other supplier
3. Make your own

Just complaining is entirely non-productive.

I look at the price for the upper through the lens of what an M16 would cost. What are they now, 20K for a conversion and 30K for a Colt? An M11 is 8K plus 3K for the Lage upper AND it's open bolt(to me a positive). I'd call that a cost savings.

I'm happy to wait till he comes out with the M10 version. I picked up mine years back for 2500 so I'll have less than 6 in it to have a full auto 556 platform. That's a win to me.

And, IF he comes out with belt fed, is there even an option out there that doesn't require a converted AR15 or an M16?

Its not that I don't want one, and its not that it isn't worth it, I simply can't afford it.

Looks awesome though. I'll be vicariously enjoying one through the posting of men richer than I.

Well, price hasn't been fully committed yet and it can't hurt for Lage to get feedback from their target market. There may be 690 people on the list but each one of them has some maximum price they'll pay. Two things are true:

1. The lower the price, the more people will buy (but you'll make less profit on each one).
2. The higher the price, the less people will buy (but you'll make more profit on each one).

If you had all the information, you could plot it on a graph and it would make a nice bell curve. The top of the bell is where Lage should set the price if they want to maximize profit. The only way they can do that is if they get feedback from their target market.

So it's not a complaint, it's useful information.
