Sorry in advance for stupid questions.

I have a nice collection of guns and want to start down the Class 3 option. I want to start with a Mac 11/9 with a LAGE upper . I have the Living Trust setup. Are there any good Class 3 dealers that specialize in Macs in DFW? Westernfirearms.com seems like a solid dealer, but his prices seem about $600 higher than anyone else. I appreciate any help....

Cheaper than dirt used to be a FFL/SOT and were pretty right on transfer fees. If you go with a reputable dealer you will pay a little more for the security but 99% of the people out there are honest. If you find someone selling something just ask on the boards and you will find out quickly the reputation of the person/dealer selling the item. The NFA stocking dealers are just trying to make a living like everybody else. Good luck in your quest, you won't regret it.:2cents

You usually will not get your best deal by buying from a stocking dealer. The NFA world is a little different than Title 1 firearms. Your best bet is to get a dealer to handle the paperwork/transfer and buy from a private party either in state or out of state if on a Form 3. You legally don't need a dealer to do the transfer for an in state transfer, but for piece of mind you might want to use one.

Cruise the boards for a gun, make your best deal, and get your dealer to handle the rest. You can get a surprising number of good offers by posting a WTB add on Arfcom, Subguns, and Sturm.

Good Luck!!!!

By the way......Welcome Aboard!!!!!:welcome

Good advice here.

Alls I can add is MG's are like Lays Tater chips - no one is happy with just one.

Welcome to the disease.

BTW, its a Title II firearm, no such thing as a class 3 firearm. Glad to see someone else with a Trust!

I'd reccomend you wait to find someone with a MG for sale in your state since you can meet with them, see the gun, and get the form 4 done in person. Faster (important for us new to the NFA game ;) ) and it will save you an extra $200 transfer as opposed to out of state.

Just fill the Form 4 in according to my guide here (since you have a trust) www.86th.org/?id=nfa-trust

Edit: I found mine on subguns too, post a WTB, be patient, have cash in hand :)
