I am new to this forum and Uzi's...not to firearms, just this platform. I jumped in with both feet, I ordered a Vector Arms from Kelly Enterprises a few weeks ago and am patiently waiting on it. While waiting on a new one, thought I would buy an original one as well. I purchased an original IMI with original box, accessories and a .22 conversion kit. It should be at my FFL on Monday.

I am going to load some rounds this weekend to run through it when it gets here, tell me what they like to eat. I have Montana Gold 147hp and Precision Delta 115RN projectiles here. Which would be better and do I need to load "hot" to make it run?

Welcome aboard. Yes, UZIs like hot ammo-- but keep in mind that 147 gr. bullets are intended for subsonic velocities. Use a fast powder like Hodgdon TiteGroup, Vihtavouri N320 or good ol' Bullseye. Always use the starting load and work up watching for pressure signs. Good luck with your toys!

Welcome to Uzitalk! Your "real" UZI hehehe, will eat anything all day long, no need for hot ammo. Your Vector on the other hand might be a little finicky, I agree with the winchester white box suggestion. If you have trouble with your Vector send it back asap, dont wait to "break it in" it wont help believe me. Sent mine back twice. Went through bout 800 rnds trying to work out the kinks. Bought an IMI model A while waiting to get the Vector functioning. Once I got My IMI I really couldnt see myself using the Vector again. So I sold it and put the money towards an IMI Mini. Good luck, yours might run perfectly some do so I hear.

Congrats on the new UZIs and welcome to UZI Talk. What's that holdup with Kelly Enterprises? Seems like a long time to wait for a semi-auto.

Sometimes a few days feels like a few weeks or months. It's kind of like waiting for Christmas morning.....

I finally got to the range last night with the IMI and was very impressed with the accuracy of this gun. Once I get the vector in and prove it reliable, it will most likely replace my AR as my truck gun.

I would like to know when your Vector comes in. I just ordered a Vector from kelly Ent. yesterday, got everything off in the mail with my FFL. They said wait may be 3 to 8 weeks. I hope it is not the latter, but the price was pre panic prices, $875 free shipping. I kid you not, a brand new Vector just sold on Gun Broker for $1,700. I had been on the fence, but when I saw that sold price, I called kelly Ent and ordered.

will do, I ordered mine about 4 weeks ago, I checked this past Monday and there were still 30 ahead of mine, hopefully will be getting it soon, it was 3-10 weeks when I ordered it. I have been considering ordering another in the .45acp I liked the original so much after shooting it last night.

A local gun store has an IMI carbine model folding stock (well used) etc.. for $3,000. I got to handle it and was impressed with how it felt. If all goes well with the Vector Carbine, I would like to order the mini next.
Chuck at Kelly Ent said he had over 100 orders out on uzi's right now.
He also runs auctions on Gun Broker and said the last one closed at like $1,300, and they still have to wait. That same person could have just called him and ordered one for $875.

I just ordered a Vector 9mm Carbine. I have a question: what are my options if I choose to purchase a shroud/fake suppressor for the gun? Thanks

Note to the new UZI owners, as much as you would like to, DO NOT run around and scream I GOT A UZI, unless you want to meet a lot of new friends that will put shiny bracelets on your wrists..........
Welcome aboard and enjoy the ride

Winchester white box works great. Since you reload, you DO NOT NEED hot loads. I use 124gr. Berry bullets, 4.7 grains Unique loaded to a OAL of 1.130. They fly at 1142 fps with the 16 inch barrel. I have SBR'd it and have not checked fps with the 10 inch barrel. I use a red dot sight, can make head shots at 100 meters consistenly, very accurate at 200 yards also. You'll love your Uzi the more you shoot it. I have a wood stock on mine also, feels so much better. The red dot makes it more accurate but you can get on target faster also.
