Norinco Full Size Uzi and "real" Action Arms IWI Mini's - Any Imported As Pistols?

All:

Think I know the answer, but there's an awful lot of expertise here. And if I've missed a thread, my apologies. I did look.

Just saw an item presented as a Norinco pistol (full size carbine, short barrel). Given the rather ... detailed ... treatment of these in order to allow importation, as well as magazine articles and web references, thought they were all carbines with welded barrel nuts and cheap birch thumbhole stocks. No pistols.

Yes, I know, Vector did some stockless full size carbine size 'pistols' which were serialized as such - a sling loop and short barrel.

Same question for AA/IMI Mini. Thought they all came in with a welded on stock plate and that bizarre long barrel.

But always willing (and interested) in hearing about variations to increase my store of knowledge about the Uzi and derivatives (smile).

Anybody have any info to share?

Neither Norinco nor Action Arms/IMI imported any full sized UZIs as a pistol.

Also, the folding stock on the IMI UZI is just bolted on. There's no welded stock plate.

with the AA imported Uzi he was referring to the mini Uzi

There is one on GB at the moment that is claimed to be an AA imported IMI Mini Uzi “pistol” with a “brace”

The photos of that gun are poor but it looks like it's a Vector Arms gun. Vector did import some IMI Mini UZI receivers and did sell some as pistols. They were marked Action Arms but were surplus that Action Arms never imported (just like the full size UZIs imported by NHM Co that were marked Action Arms.) Action Arms never imported any in a pistol configuration.

Thanks much, RoverDave. Just wanted to make sure that my memories were intact. Agree that the Mini appears to have Vector engraving below the top cover left side, and also clearly the word PISTOL on the left rear of receiver over the brace. What struck me was the ... assertion that it was IWI / AA Import ... rather than saying it was a Vector build. (smile)
