I need to know what receiver I should put it in. I have an entire parts set and I have been thinking about getting a stripped lower. Any thoughts or prefered lowers? I want to keep my SP1 a SBR semi, and no more large hole small hole conflict.

Stay away from anything Colt. Even the LEO only receivers require milling for the RDIAS and they are large pin. Call Bushmaster and see if their receivers are RDIAS ready. I've read some rumors that they are not. Most likely rumors I hope.

I've heard it both ways on Bushmaster but the majority says yes.
I've also heard Ameetec and LAR are RDIAS ready.
BTW, my buddy in West Palm still let me down on getting me his Bushmaster lower so I think I may be getting one from someone else.
I have a friend that has a contract w/ LAR to get 200 receivers/month. I was planning on getting a couple from him. Contact me privately if you are interested. He should have them soon. I'm hoping he will have some for me at the gun show this coming weekend (March 26th 27th).
Don't know if its true but he says LAR makes receivers for Bushmaster. I will have my sear w/ me to check the fit.

Bushy is fine. I have seen "Ameetec" lower receivers and they look RDIAS ready. They are in AZ IIRC. Call them first to verify the RDIAS.

The RDIAS in my RLL link below was a JB Whitman. The owner used a spring that was at least 3 times the spring rate that should have been used. The pin broke and tore up the RDIAS body when it kept running. Use the lowest spring rate you can for the unit to function properly. Bic Pen soft. Change your pin if the RDIAS is new to you. HTH

Bushmaster lowers are mil-spec and allow the use of your RDIAS without modifying the lower. I believe the LAR and Stag lowers will also allow a RDIAS. I will be receiving a Stag lower in the next few days and will verify this.

CMMG, Bushmaster, and Ameetec come to mind as all manufacturing stripped lowers with a shelf that will accept RDIAS. I'd give the CMMG a shot out of the three, they've got the best roll mark. Also, they are avid titleII shooters, and they shoot the hell out of they're own lowers in full auto, so it's safe to say they can hang with the abuse. Check em out, and good luck :)

Didn't someone recently post about Frankfort Arsenal receivers being particularly good for this type of setup?

Ix-nay on the Stag. I have built several into AR15's and they have high shelf and thick walls.

Bushmaster and DPMS will fit standard DIAS.

DPMS? this is the first time I have heard that name mentioned with a DIAS. Have you had first hand building one from a DPMS receiver? If so, how did it work?

Thats strange. I noticed Tom from Gemtech had two Post samples built from Stag lowers and I asked about DIAS compatibility and he said it would drop in. Maybe he didn't understand what I meant.

I had also called Eagle Firearms and they told me that the DIAS wouldn't drop in.

BTW, I tried out the 3.8 gr of Bullseye and I think it may be a shade louder than the VV320 but that could be me too.
All in all, I think I will be switching to Bullseye as its much easier to get and the price is better too.
Thanks!!

Where are you getting it from? I know ordering some components is a PITA due to shipping restrictions and that nasty orange label they put on primers so I usually try to buy in person. There's a shop here in Miami called Pantera guns that stocks Vitavhoury by the truckload almost exclusively. What I love about it is no shipping cost. Garcia National also stocks most powders.

I have direct experience using a DIAS on a DPMS Forged lower. I have built more than 4 of them and they have all worked fine.

There are two types of DPMS lowers; Cast and Forged. Only the Forged works.

Tom has access to a mill and annodizing equipment. He is a C2 SOT. After he finished with those lowers, they were M16 spec.

Here is my lowly SA stock Stag AR:

Gun show. VV is hard to get at the shows. I too hate ordering powder/primers because of the hazmat charges also.

I have my RDIAS in my Bushmaster, but I have test fitted it into a DPMS and it fits perfectly.
