I literally have no clue why, but I've always had a fascination with the Beretta 93R.
The M9 is too bulky for a 9mm pistol, but maybe that's an advantage for the 93R?

There's been one on GB not selling for months at $29,400...

If I had an extra $25k lying around (which I do not), I'd be sorely tempted to make an offer at $22.5k, and try to meet at $25k

Did you forget about Tim Bixler's (SCRC) Beretta 93R copies?

I absolutely did forget about them. Somewhere on the internet someone posted the whole story about how those got made, it was fascinating.

I also forgot about the Star MD pistols. I believe there are one or some transferables out there.

I also saw the pistol Battering Ram saw as well. As I recollect the gentleman was selling a package os Macs along with the 32 pistol. The thing ran blazingly fast for all of its seven rounds.

...

My conversation with Tim Bixler was at the old Houston Astro Hall Gun Show. Tim had a table set up and a couple of his 93Rs were just sitting there. I was curious about them and picked one up. I asked him how he made the frames. He then said "I got a chunk of metal and machined away everything that wasn't in a frame". OK then... As an aside, I had just closed the deal on a RR PP MP5 for $2000 the day before so I was short on cash at that moment.

I found at least part of the story I had mentioned.

I believe Joshua Prince still owns the titanium gun. At least, I haven't heard of it changing hands. It's a strange gun, last I knew it was John Deere green.

Also I found a reference where someone claims Dan Shea had one or some Taurus 92 frames registered.

It was on subguns. Ive tried to find it. It’s gone

You could have bought that pkg for $8500 and sold it 4 months later for $20,000

It claimed to have a 1 off .32 cal MAC brand -1970s can

A range toy only for sure.

I missed it by 30 minutes.

I was 2nd on his list!!

willing to pay full price w a check in the mail same day

Ive found approx 1/3 -I’ll take it’s - never send a check. I hoped for a week I’d get the phone call :(

I don’t remember what the gun was. But at the time I found mags for sale. I thought I could buy 3 mags and weld them together to make a 20 rd mag

I purchased a gun from a long time Thompson collector who said he saw them when he was shopping for some colts. Man if we could have these prices today ! Prices 1994. Also have some sear prices from 1994 if you would to like to see.

The Venus/Policarpa 22-2 with matching suppressor is generally called submachine gun, but based on its size and weight, it could well be considered a machine pistol. The gun itself is .22LR caliber and sort of looks like a Mauser 712 or Charter Arms Explorer II pistol. It has two Siamesed barrels that are fed from two Siamesed magazines. In Sep., 2006, Small Arms Review had a technical article about one that had been owned by Mitch WerBell. From what I've read elsewhere, when the CIA tested it as a potential assassination weapon (by shooting sheep that were dressed with Russian winter coats) it "sounded like a goat farting".

And as far as the Charter Arms Explorer II pistol goes, back in the day, there was a 'How To' book on converting an AR-7, and thus a Charter Arms Explorer II pistol, to full auto. IIRC, the conversion was to full auto only and apparently didn't work very well. But then, apparently neither did the semi auto Charter Arms version of the AR-7 rifle or the Charter Arms Explorer II pistol without a bit of grinding and some tweaking.

MHO, YMMV, etc.

There are still options out there, the .380 being maybe the smallest but most available? I’d like to build a .22 on my Firefly subgun frame- that could be a pretty tiny but controlable machine pistol.

Did you forget about Tim Bixler's (SCRC) Beretta 93R copies? Tim made ten receivers back in '86 and assembled them in '88. Dave Boatman imported and stripped ten factory Post Sample Beretta 93Rs and used Tim's receivers with the parts kits. Eight had forged aluminum receivers, one had a steel receiver, and the last one had a titanium receiver. Tim offered me an aluminum receiver one for $2000. Because of my extreme intelligence, I passed on it.

This Ruger MKII was listed last year for $55K
