I see UZIs, these days, going for $1,000 up to $2,000 plus…
What was the price on them, model “A”s, when they came out in the 1980s? semi autos.
just wondering…
Thanks

In April 1986 just before the MG ban I bought a new UZI Model A converted to full auto from C2 Charlie Erb for $750.00
Many parts were converted semi-auto parts, barrel, grip, topcover. Back then there were no UZI parts kits available. As I can recall Group Industries made conversion bolts and sears, not much else. Back then there was a shop in Hermitage, PA selling A-R-S Grip frames for $495.00!

I paid $369.00 for my first new Uzi Carbine in 1985, and I passed on a new H&K 94 that was priced at $393.00, while trying to decide which I should buy at a LGS.

I remember them at a shop outside of Ft Bragg for about $400 in 1988. And lots of them.

It's important to not forget inflation.
In 1985, $500 was like $1500 in 2024.
Yes, there were lots of Uzis but I remember that as a poor college student in 1985... $500 was way out of my disposable income.
