I have a lower that needs the F and S markings painted on so it will look like the original Action Arms Semi. See pics. I plan on engraving the F and S deeper before painting and wondering what type of paint would be the best. Any advise will be appreciated.

Testors model paint, a small bottle is $2 and you can use a needle or toothpick to fill in the engraving. Or you can get fancy and pay $20 a bottle for "sight paint" and use that.

Are you planning on just leaving the third FA position blank?
I see there is a hash mark there so this was a FA lower that someone covered over the original markings?

Yes this is re-parkerized FA lower that has the selector lever stop welded in effectively making it a semi lower. I plan on leaving the third position mark blank.
So I take it that Testor's will be resistant to oils and solvents

Testor's will work fine. Just be very careful when filling it in.

I have used Testor's model paint as well, looks just like factory.

Testors here too. You can apply it and then wipe gently over the surface with a stiff paper towel and it leaves the paint that's in the letter grooves

Gloss Testors model paint. Gloss paint won't pick up dirt and soiling like flat paint can do.
I've also seen guys dampen a piece of cotton cloth like denim with some Hoppe's #9 powder solvent and wipe off any excess paint with it. Careful not to scrub too hard or you can end up pulling some of the paint out of the lettering.
