Has anyone tried welding a piece of picatinny rail on the backplate/endcap of their 76, in order to mount a stock?
Results? Satisfactory?
Any reason not to...?
I am thinking of a Maxin sliding stock...

There was a dude here that made a mount that slide on the rear, without mods, to mount a stock.

DED,

if you did do this, I'd have someone turn a new endcap or use an aftermarket one. Additionally, it would be good if you had the pic rail extending lower so that you could use the sights as in the stock adapter mentioned above (picture below). I suspect you wouldn't be able to shoot the Maxim sliding stock with the rails collapsed on the 76 if you did lower the rail down below the endcap level...

before i welded onto the endcap I would rather drill and tap with a substantial sized bolt thru a pic rail that would extend down maybe 3 to 3-1/2 inches and experiment with a preffered attachment height off the rail below tube level. if i wanted to swap later simply unbolt off the endcap to whatever else. use endcap bolt to keep hole plugged if not in use.

All over the place!
I picked this up a few years ago with the intention of having the plugged turned down to fit my MK760, but haven’t done anything with it
