PMAG fit issues with older receivers / Sendra?

Just a question: My Sendra RR will not accept PMAGs--it looks like the flare at the bottom of the mag well is not nearly as open as on newer receivers I have. Has anyone else experienced this problem with PMAGS and Sendras? How about older Colts, etc.?

Currently I'm just cutting the mags to fit (haven't got it to fit just yet), but considering modifying the receiver with a flared mag well at some point in the future (most likely only if the receiver ever needs major repair or maintenance).

my GM Hydramatic RR would not accept them either, i looked and the flare is nowhere near as wide as my newer ones either. only a light stroke of the file on the first ridge on the front of the mag allowed me to consistently seat them fully. thinking of having M60joe do some work to mine and prob gonna include this in the work list.

Have a really old Colt SP1 RR, I think about 1964? Slab sided and all. Pmags fit and run fine. Only other older rcvr I have is Oly Arms from early 90s and it works ok with them too. I have had some Essential Arms rcvrs that were tight with most mags until I clearanced the corners of the well-maybe too much finish in the well?

The 1st gen of PMAGS had fitting issues in some guns. How old are your PMAGS?

2 of them I got about 2 years ago. The other 2 I just got in November.

I did just get 2 of them to fit by filing a very small amount of plastic off the front top rib of the mag. Mags would not drop free until I filed a little on the "tabs" on the back of the mag that are there to tighten up the fit. This receiver does have a pretty tight mag well. If I ever need major work I'm going to see if that can be opened up any.

dropping free wasn't an issue with my RR. just getting it to go into the magwell far enough to contact the mag catch was the problem.

Got all 4 mags to work OK now. Now I should have some better reliability with my .300 Whisper upper. PMAGs work way better than regular magazines with the Whisper cartridge.

Colt RR takes pmags fine. Try the magpul E-MAG.
Do this. My Group Industries M16A1 won't take either 1st or 2nd gen PMAGs, but EMAGs fit just fine.

funny you state your Sendra RR has problems fitting the Pmags.

I have a Sendra RR and was at the range today and my PMags also do not seem to fit into place well. They work but it takes a bit of work to get them to seat well. All my Pmags are brand spanking new.

I was wondering what was going on.

I've seen the same problem with pmags in a fairly new Olympic Arms AR receiver.

I've repaired several Sendra receivers to allow the mags to fit. This one had the most issues though.

Selector detent hole was in the wrong position, the mag well didn't allow Thermold mags, and the rear takedown pin counter bore was shallow.
