I would really like to this happen. I've got a kit just waiting for a good receiver.

It would be really nice if CNC Warrior will offer options.

Regular or reversed selector.
Lightening cuts
South African or Israeli features

let's just get one manufactured, THEN let's see about options.

Horse, then cart, IMHO.

Per a thread on The FAL FILES, it appears that CNC Warrior will probably be making a run of Galil receivers next spring.

Personnally, I would love to have a .308 Galil receiver versus a .223 but if we started a group buy or made formal inquiries to CNC Warrior maybe they will make a .308 Galil receiver in addition to a .223 version.

Here is their web site:

Note: I can not run a group buy as I am currently working in the 'sandbox"

If you would like a .223 or .308 Galil receiver, please post a reply so we can get an estimate to give to CNC Warrior.

Thanks

I have been talking to Denny this past 2 weeks on this issue.

He is looking at starting production in a month; but the process will take 2 to 3 months in completing it.

His only concern was the .308 receiver; in which I asked Jeff if he could send a IMI one for setting up the programming.

Someone should take the lead; gathering all of the info / customer names, so this can be given to CNC Warrior. It works best to work as a group and help this guy out. He mentioned to me on needing help in making this successful.

If we invest our time in helping him out; it helps us out.

Its up to the group.

I'm new here but have lurked for awhile (also, long history on the AK & FAL Boards).

I've only recently discovered Galils and it looks like some affordable kits are becoming available. But, having a receiver with a good rep is holding everything back.

I've written and spoken with Denny about his. He is definitely interested but remains a bit skeptical that the numbers are really there. He knows he can move an AK milled receiver but galils are more exotic to everyone but us.

A Group buy approach may help get this done. I don't think we're looking to beat down the price (as long as it is fair--say $350ish). But a fairly firm committment to buy 50-75 receivers would probably make this happen sooner rather than later.

Okay, the new guy will sit down and shut up.

I would be in for at least 1. It would be great if they could eventualy offer a true micro reciever latter on. I would definatly be in for another one.

I will get at least one .223 receiver. And definitely more if there are lightening cut options — either both sides blank or both sides cut the same. +1 on the true micro receiver, too.

In my experience, most of the people that say they want one won't be able to go through with it, when the time comes for one reason or another. It's much better for him to start a list with $100 non refundable deposit required to get on it. That will show who's really going to go through with the purchase, opposed to who would really like to get one but can't. I'm sure most people would not feel comfortable sending money to some one they don't know on this forum, I know I wouldn't like it. At least with CNCWarrior, there is a business face to put people's faith in, and a serious commitment to purchase from the buyer, and that's what this is really about. He should also have a realistic date for completion, even if it's six months or longer away. Then, everyone knows going into this what to expect, and lessens the amount of emails asking "hey, where's my receiver". CNCwarrior is making a serious commitment to make these (I assume), the buyer should make an equal commitment to buy them and everyone starts off happy. But, I'm sure there are equally as good ways to get this started also, but, a list of just names is not the best. YMMV

Commitment. Excellent point. There would be substantial (time/money) commitment by CNC Warrior which he must recover. Something should be required up front besides a "verbal." This would indicate one's seriousness for the deal. :bigfart

I agree with realnutjob, except i believe the receivers should be paid up front, the resources/labor wouldn't be covered with just $100. I think someone said before that these would be around $400 a piece for the .223. I'd guess the cost for manufacture to be around $275-$350, if they are done correctly with good quality.

I'll personally pass on this one though, last thing i need is another project :boohoo

So, instead of who is willing to commit verbally, it is now who is ready to put down a deposit or possibly pay in full. I'm still in, if the opportunity for a correct receiver is there I'll take it. Who knows if or when it will come up again. Century and ORF will seem to always have a certain stigma with their builds.

Until CNC Warrior chimes in with what they're looking for in terms of buyer commitment, any other kind of roll call is purely speculative. Personally, I am not comfortable fronting 100% of a manufacturer's risk assessment. I've been burned like that before (and yes, by companies in business for a long time with solid reputations beforehand).

This thread shows that there is indeed some interest in producing Galil receivers. However, businesses should make their production decisions based on sound market research first. Since they gain in profit, their risk burden should be greater, along with their incentive to produce a superior product.

That said, I would consider a nominal deposit if CNC Warrior requires such before actually starting production.

Good Point. I have to talk to Denny this week in possibly coordinating a .308 receiver sample to him. Those are the further questions I'll ask him before I even mention about giving a deposit.

There is more steps needed before we even get to this point. But there is info that is needed now in helping what direction to go.

A guess at interest of receivers from us would help him. Also the question about lightning cuts and Scope mount cuts; because he does have to set-up programming in calculating time and money..

If he doesn't do them, Jeff could be an option.

He definately wants to make .308 receivers also. Hopefully micro can be an option down the road.

He mention to me last week about starting this project in 4 weeks; but we will see. Right now its talk.

I'm a project manager and a buyer; so I see this everyday.

He has to show a strong physical (Actions, not words) commitment with results.

I'm just curious how serious the folks on here will be

Any info I find out, I'll pass on.

CNC warriors threaded AK presale required a $20 deposit. That would be reasonable.

I'm hoping CNC warrior will send out a few prototypes to TennGalil and gunplumber to have them do a build and provide feedback.

This would make a tremendous amount of sense, and would assure the quality prior to production. It would do wonders to reassure the buyers after everything we've been through with the ORF and cast Century Golani products.
