Hey guys 07/02 ffl here. I have a semi auto complete mckay receiver inbound.

I'd like to use it to make a post sample. However I kinda want to get it up to smg specs.

The plan is to modify the feed ramp to work with a smg barrel. However I know the trunnions in these are reduced I'd. What would the best way to ream it out to fit the smg pattern barrels? I'd rather not turn down smg barrels to fit.

And next, the blocking bar. Without drilling the spot welds, what would be the best way to remove it? With the back plate and the rear sight installed, it'll be quite tricky to get the dremel in there. Any tips? Thanks!

I do believe that the trunnion throat on the semi receiver is smaller inside diameter then the SMG. if I remember correctly (84% certain). If you must use a SMG barrel, then you could drill to a slightly undersize then run a reamer to size it. Or just take your SMG barrel to a machinist (if you dont have a lathe) and they can trim it.

For a posty, just slot the bolt, open the sear cut outs and cut off the top of the restrictor ring. Register the slotted bolt as the machinegun. I would not go to the trouble of making the trunion smg spec. It takes no time to cut a semi barrel or turn a smg spec barrel to fit
