Pre-ban UZI

Is it possible to purchase a registered open bolt, and then find a pre-ban Model B from a parts kit you see offered for sale, and then assemble the rifle yourself. I see the kits offered for sale with good prices in gun magazines. How could you tell which kit was Model A or B? Is this legal?? Or would it be legal to have a gunsmith put this together? My question is would it be legal to build a pre-ban Model B from a parts kits??
Reason for this is to get one a little at a time with limited amount of money. :mg

Striker, parts kits are generally from UZI SMG's, not from a model A or model B (which are semi automatic.) A parts kit won't have a receiver in it either so you need to get a receiver to built the kit on. You can assemble a gun from a kit but it must conform to current US laws and will be considered a post-ban gun.

If you put a registered bolt in the gun, then the gun can be any configuration you want, but if you ever took the bolt out, it would have to meet post ban requirements or be destroyed.

Pre ban/post ban requirements could change next fall depending on what the politicians do.

A registered bolt will cost you $3k. A registered receiver UZI will cost you about $4k right now. A pre-ban Uzi of any kind will cost you at least $1k so you would be better off just buying a RR model IMHO. Registered bolts are also VERY hard to come by these days, regardless of cost.
