Dude, I fucking asked him, RICHARD LAGE, THE MAKER OF THE UNIT if it would work and HE TOLD ME IT WOULD AND IT DOES NOT!

Remember this?

> I'm sure you know this but I have to ask if my Viper locking ring
> will fit on your upper?

>The Viper works just fine with my barrels.

Are you an idiot or a sycophant?

JUST WHO ELSE ON THIS PLANET WAS I TO ASK IF HIS PRODUCT WOULD DO WHAT I WANTED IT TO EXCEPT HIM?

If he said "I don't know." I would have looked further but he didn't so I took HIS WORD that it would work AND IT DOES NOT!

ETA: My anger is directed at the poster's stupidity, and not Richard Lage.

Dude, it seems like you need to calm down. I think you are just mad because you made an uneducated decision and now you are trying to blame it on someone else. Richard said it should work with the barrel which is what he was told. If I were you I'd just be happy that he is so willing to work with you even though you totally tried to make him sound like a liar in your other post.

Dude, when you have a problem, contact the seller first before you start bitchin. I had a some strange problems and Richard went above and beyond to take care of me. Best customer service Ive ever had. These are super custom products. If you dont want any problems, keep the stock upper!

–noun
a self-seeking, servile flatterer; fawning parasite.

sycophant
1537 (in L. form sycophanta), "informer, talebearer, slanderer," from L. sycophanta, from Gk. sykophantes, originally "one who shows the fig," from sykon "fig" + phanein "to show." "Showing the fig" was a vulgar gesture made by sticking the thumb between two fingers, a display which vaguely resembles a fig, itself symbolic of a cunt (sykon also meant "vulva"). The story goes that prominent politicians in ancient Greece held aloof from such inflammatory gestures, but privately urged their followers to taunt their opponents. The sense of "mean, servile flatterer" is first recorded in Eng. 1575.

I agree, if you have a problem, you should contact the seller first.. Richard is a very stand-up guy. I asked the Viper question too with my Max-10 (when it comes), and I was told the same thing: that it would work. Having been told that I never gave it another thought. To be honest, Richard is a VERY honest person. His mistake was not intentional nor was it meant with malice. I don't know Lage personally, but I know enough of his reputation to know that he's not going to just fart people off or promise gold and deliver shit, like so many others do in this community.

But Richard Lage is not a demi-god… HE IS HUMAN... believe it or not.

He actually IS capable of making a mistake or two... Should we honestly crucify him because of it? sheesh...

Also, people need to lay off the original poster of this thread.. Come on now. the guy is upset, and rightfully so...granted he didn't handle it appropriately, but he was angry, and justifiably… I know I would be exceptionally pissed off if I got my MUCH ANTICIPATED Max-?? upper and learned my Viper wouldn’t work. AFTER ALL THE LOCKING RING WAS THE ENTIRE REASON I PURCHASED THAT SUPPRESSOR. Unlike most of you out there, I don’t have to burn my hand or take the extra time to wrap my hand up in something to re-tighten the damn thing down after a mag dump or two, but for shit-sake here….. how many times have you handled a situation appropriately when you were angry? Come-on, now children…... be honest... thats what I thought.. not many.

good grief.... this is 3rd grader child-ism here.

HIJACK IS OVER.. GET BACK TO THE QUESTION AT HAND :)

I specifically asked in email conversation if it was compatible with my Viper9 suppressor locking ring and it is not. He told me it was. In a later email he admitted to being told of the problem.

I bought that suppressor on his advice because of the locking ring and now I can't use it with the locking ring.

Here is a copy of the original email that you posted

Your question makes it seem as if you already own the viper and that you just want to know if his upper will work with it. Maybe you should have said "Hey I'm thinking about buying a viper but I dont want to buy it unless I know for sure that it will work with your upper".

BTW, I'll gladly pay you cost for your max-11 upper right now if its in factory condition. I'm sure there are boatloads of others that will gladly do the same. Seriously though, PM me if you want to sell it.

UPDATE

I am sure you received a notice that i received your order and responded that you will get another update when it is shipped. If you contacted me to find out the update i am sure that i responded as well. If you have any problems, let me know directly. I have a contact email address and a phone number just like any other seller, contact me and i will give you an update. A lot dealers are experiencing back orders and even issues concerning raw materials so a lot of components are taking a bit longer than usual to arrive and produce.

WHAT!! The 1911 in 40cal? Doesn't like Glocks... Don't like Uzis??? Well thats just down right un-American. :spank
:peace

for the record: I like just about any quality gun. I have glocks and 1911s and like them both. I'd love an Uzi but would have to sell my house to buy one... and the 1911 in .40 was just the most pot-stirring combo I could think of. :D

I Know you were joking brother! I was too.. No self respecting man couldn't love 1911's and Uzi's... Glocks, I might be able to understand.. I like them alright, but im not extremely thrilled by them. Blame my father for that one. My first handgun introduction was the 1911 when I was about 2 years old, and I've been hooked since! It's all I carry for personal protection.. Its like my Visa.. It's everywhere I want to be. (thats because I cant fit my .45 MAC 10 in my IWB hoster....damn-it... I'll try again with the M16 Im soon gonna purchase.. maybe that'll fit a little better :D

Oh I knew it would not go over well.

I have already done everything that everyone has suggested in this thread.

I researched it.

I read everyones experiences.

I contacted Richard.

I asked the manufacturer.

Post-purchase I contacted the manufacturer and he has offered a fix that I am not particularly fond of.

I am pissed I was unintentionally misled, but that is not why my posts are angry. It's because no one seemed to read what I wrote and all the posters are telling me to do what I have already done.

My only option now is to send my upper back to Richard to have something fixed that he said would not be a problem. I have a problem with that and if you guys don't see that I don't know what to say.

I apologize to anyone I offended or attacked in this thread and I thank NAM for his real help.

I'm out and sorry for the hijack.

Captianpooby,

You will find some very loyal Lage supporters on this site. You will walk into a buzz saw if you come across as criticizing the man or his stuff (I know you aren't). I don't want to paint Mr. Lage into a corner, but he WILL MAKE IT RIGHT. The guy has the best customer service in the industry!

FWIW, I will purchase your upper now for whatever you have into it. What more could you want than a full refund?

Jake
