This was built by RDTS and just delivered to one of my dealers. It's an E upgrade version (EUG). Is 12K reasonable (same range as MM21E/23E)? This is not an either/or proposition as I would probably acquire an MM model sometime next year anyway. It's a "bird in the hand" opportunity. Any inputs/insights would be appreciated. Thanks.

Myself do not like the HK21 as the slide in feed tray is a pain when ever have any issues, you are stuck with just 308 (not that big of factor but a factor) and most of the HK21';s I have fired were a lot rougher. That said the last issue maybe corrected between the E upgrade and RDTS building .... have never fired one of his.

An interesting game plan is the HK21 now and the MM23eK version next year (the shorter one). Could also check with Mike and see if he has any MM2xe in stock, other wise it would be X number of months if you order now and assuming no evil AWB goes into effect ......

Thanks to all for the advice and feedback! I plan to inspect the RDTS unit this week and will likely pull the trigger on it. Meanwhile MM and now BPP have my attention for a possible 5.56 acquisition next year.

Thanks - it was a good year for NFA acquisitions. The 614 did come through. The lower was refinished as you suspected, but it has been flawless in function with M4, LMG uppers and was a big hit with family and friends at various shoots over the holidays.

It's no big deal if it was refinished. All that matters is that you like it. Colts will always run with no problems and will command a premium over other '16's. My first registered receiver "M-16" was an SP-1 that was converted by LaFrance Specialties. I got it from LMO. It was a movie gun from Ellis Props and Graphics. I refinished that gun because it was pretty ugly. It had some sort of black paint on the lower instead of the usual Colt color. It also ran without any problems.
